Re: Trading with Trolls 2

"He has a point... unless you want to sell the star metal when we deliver the wagon, we should figure out how to carry it when we come back."

Looking from the door to the tracks on the floor, Jendrich sighs. "Either way, I don't think we can safely get the wagon across that room. So either we try the same tactic on the other side of the corridor, or we explore deeper and hope we can deal with that left those tracks..."

Re: Trading with Trolls 2

She closes the wall back up close to the way it was, but leaves a distinctive marking to remember where it was.

"So, which door do I open?" Ülo points first to the statue hallway and then to the door leading into the unknown.

One is a known problem and the other an unknown situation.  You pay your money and choose, like in an inn.

Jendrich looks from one door to the other. "Both stone and metal foes are going to be hard to deal with... but we know the stone statues outnumber us. I think we'd have an easier time with the metal guy."

Re: Trading with Trolls 2

In reply to Jendrich (msg # 753):

you might be able to determine which direction the visitor to this room ended up in with a tracking roll.

the no-manna room looks like the object that went through the ceiling  also went deeply through the floor as well.

there were visible: another door straight accross,  one to the statue hall, and one opposite that, presumably leading to the unknown room in the library room.

Trading with Trolls 2

"Well, if you're really willing to leave it to me," she pats Syvanus' arm and smiles, her pupils practically taking up her eyes. She turns away from the statue hallway and answers Jendrich, "Exactly my thoughts!  Well, no, I mean I'm thinking the footprints are old and 'possible fight' is better than 'guaranteed fight'... and we already know what's out in the hall, but what is behind this door?"

She trots, not quite skipping, over to the door she'd sealed.  Again she places her hands on the stone covering, does her dance and chant, and with a giggle sloppily shifts the stone to either side of the door, clearing it, but not with as much 'focus' or 'control' as before.

Then she steps away, swaying, "I think I'll just have a sit down over there again" and does so, sitting in the tunnel, pulling a hunk of dried meat out of her pouch and giving it a good chewing.

OOC:  Taking extra time, times 30, casting time increased to 30 seconds, unless Mana is normal by the door, in which case she'll still throw a few extra wiggly dance moves in, but limit herself to a "few seconds".

14:01, Today: Ulo rolled 8 using 3d6.  Shape Stone 13 (Skill 15 - 5 Low Mana + 5 Extra Time - 1 Footprint -1 Hallucinations).

Footprint: -1
Spells On:  Hide (No Footprint), No Smell (No Footprint), Borrow Language -1.

He steps through and looks at everything carefully...

[Private to GM: He rolled a 10 for tracking, so with a skill of 13, he should be able to determine how old the tracks are, roughly speaking. Unable to roll anything else right now

Grohm gave way to the fatigued Ulo at the doorway and gave her a pat on the shoulder as she went to rest outside.  Glaive in hand, he stepped a few feet into the library and watched intently as Syvanus opened the door.

21:07, Today: Grohm'Tahl rolled 9 using 3d6.  Watching the door.  (hearing 13).

21:06, Today: Grohm'Tahl rolled 8 using 3d6.  Watching the door.  (Observation 10).

from beyond the door there is no sound.

the footprints may have entered from the hall of statues and back out the same way. givrn the depth of the dust, probably within the last day, maybe a few hours ago.

the footsteps entered the door and exited.

the room beyond is large, and within you can see what looks like an altar with a cauldron in front of it, and four pillars with gargoyles atop them.

Jendrich looks at the gargoyles above, and decides to walk along the wall of the room to avoid walking between the pillars. If the statues decide to move, at least they won't be able to flank him...

Make a per roll as you walk around the pillars.  Are you treading in the dust or in the footprints?

In reply to Jendrich (msg # 768):

the footsteps lead along the wall, and straight to the altar. in addition to the square in the dust, there are imprints of large looking set of knuckles that have an odd shape, as if whatever it was with the odd footprints scooped up the item on the altar and turned around and left.

there looks to be an inscription on the altar, but it is caked with dust.
