(just wide enough for the cart),
leads into a cluttered room with a pair of cots and trunks and a thick layer of dustt on the floor.
to one side appears to be a clother rack of some kind, hung with robes and the like.

Ülo moves back to the first library room and begins expanding the tunnel's end and shaping the library doorway to allow the cart to fit through into the "altar" room, moving the stone to better block off the door leading into the main corridor where the statues stand guard.

As Syvanus checks the trunks, Jendrich approaches the rack, carefully moving the robes aside with his sword to see if anything is hiding behind them.

In the first trunk, Syvanus finds some shrivelled shoes, decayed cloth, and a slender leatherbound book.


Jendrich finds something behind the three robes hanging on the coatrack- it isn't  a coatrack, it is something in the likeness of a man, sewn together from undead flesh,  with hooks for hands (that the robes are hanging from)

Syvanus gives the same treatment* to the book, before opening it to see what language it is written in.

Jendrich pauses as he sees the patchwork being, before stumbling back with a yell. "By the Holy Ghost, what sort of twisted creation is this!?"

Syvanus finds no trap on the book. The language seems to be latin.

He puts the book in his gear and raises shied and sword at the appreance of this new horror.

Grohm was poking around the room near the cots when Jendrich's loud exclamation got his attention.  He hefted his glaive and ran over to join him.  Grohm took up a flanking position against the new threat.

Grimaldi stood back out of the melee across the room. He observed the obvious guardian, trying to discern whether it be undead, or construct.

the hook handed horror seems to be a bit of both... an animated construct composed of undead parts- sort of a twisted version of a flesh golem, but it itself is not undead per se.

Jendrich backs away from the creature, just barely getting his shield in the way of it's wicked hooks. He replies by swinging his blade up, slicing at the arm that just threatened him.

Jendrich cuts the arm, which does not bleed, and does some damage but not enough to cripple the composite limb.

He moves to the flank and concentrates.

As the construct continued forward towards Jendrich, Grohm allowed it to walk by him. As it passed, he attacked from it's rear flank, swinging his glaive with all of his might.

Starting to get a sense of the creature's clumsy movement, Jendrich backs out of it's reach, doing his best to keep it distracted while the others attack it.
