With Kalima

As Benny accepts the coin, he nods to Flavius, "Plutocrat... ah..." and when someone answers with his name he continues, "Flavius, is this already tenthed or will Hades be demanding his due next season?"

And Aoife and Sederic, "I apologize young man I had not noticed your injuries.  Let us take care of that as soon as we find ourselves at Mancini's office."

In reply to Benny Morales (msg # 746):

This is since you dropped off DuFontaine. for him, you may get a reward from Father Robards, who has been walking with you since the tavern, alongside Aloysius, as they review their prayer books for heresies.

Mancini nods in appreciation. He then turns to his group, "I think we have taken enough of the Haedereum's time at the moment. Let us hurry to my office to discuss next steps and see what the venerable Father Robards has discovered."

In reply to Mancini (msg # 748):

As you make your way back to the guild, the goblin priest closes the prayer book.
"Surprisingly, the books appear to be untainted... although we did find a handwritten incantation and diagram of dubious nature tucked into one of the hymnals... which were all printed well before this one could have been entered into the  graver's guild.  I have some business to attend to, in the matter of purifying and resanctifying the font, as well as the anticipated demand for refunds for holy water sold... I fear they will blame Aloysius here and not our twisted civil servant."

With that, he leads the infernal priest back to the Cathedral.

After zipping past McCain, you enter the guild and head to Mancini's office.

Re: With Kalima

Once in Mancini's office, Benny lays hands upon Sederic and prays, "Hermes, Lord of Transactions allow this trade, that I shall take from this man his injuries and give unto to him wellness and health, thank you Lord Hermes."

Upon finishing the prayer Sederic feels immediately restored* and Benny staggers as though he took a sudden blow.  He stops from falling with a hand on the wall, and straightens slowly, his speech sounds more 'dock worker/ruffian' than uphill clergy for a moment, "I'm gettin too old for this shit." He winces and grabs a chair to sit down, "You been walkin around on it this whole time?"  He notices his vocal shift, and slides smoothly back into 'clergyman' mode, "Next time speak up sooner young man.  No need to tough it out all afternoon."

He rests his hand upon his the aspergillum  "Hermes, Lord of Travels, please walk these bruises on down the path and away from your loyal servant in recompense of his good works in your name this day, thank you oh mercurial one."  He sighs, not quite with relief, more in anticipation of relief to come, "I'll be fine in a few minutes.  Hermes always takes his time, I call it the Pain Tax he charges for these miracles.  Healing others is fast, sure, and leaves no scars, healing myself I suspect is meant as a lesson in avoiding getting hurt."

OOC:  Invoked Learned Prayer Lay on Hands (Healing) and then Learned Prayer Flesh Wounds (Fast Regeneration).

* Sederic heals all his wounds.

And question Felix the Devil about the books he recieved and the tasks he was set to.

"Now, Felix, under your name we found a list of books, none of which are familiar, at least to me -- but the source makes each one suspect.

"What were they about, and what did you do with them -- besides read them, I mean?"

Mancini observed and listened as Felix answered the question. Mancini was a master of spotting lies, after all, he had trained at the Guild,a venerable hotbed of intrigue and backstabbing.

As Mancini realizes this guy really believes his own words, Mancini shakes his head in disgust.

"Also, why are you so concerned with politics? You're not a king, noble, head of guild, or even a head of a religious faction. So, what do you get out of it?"
