Mario looks at Clarence. "You, on the other hand, chose to become a member of our company, so you get a share -- even if that's a tenth of nothing. This time, it's not, but it can happen. First time we went down there, I spent the night before ill, probably from eating those broken meat pies I bought with my last farthing, and we came back with barely enough to eat the next day. Time after that, I got shanked by that demon brat, and almost everything we brought back went to get my leg mostly healed.
"Sometimes things work out well -- help out a rich traveler, you might get a share of a big old gold nugget -- and sometimes they don't.
