Re: Junior House Again

Jareth again swipes ineffectually at the large leech stuck to his goggles.

OOC: 11:39, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 10 using 3d6.  Swat 9  (DX 10 - 9 SM + 4 AOA + 4 Telegraphed Attack). Trying to knock the leech from his goggles.

And Mario continues not-quite-dragging Jareth toward the door with the steps.

He shifts the arm shielding his eyes to cover his mouth just long enough to shout "Try to open the door!"

Once within a few steps of the door, Mario releases Jareth's arm and reaches his gloved hand toward the leech on Jocelyn's wrist -- swiping at it in hope of detaching it.

[Private to GM: 17:46, Today: Mario Crowfoot rolled 9 using 3d6.  Punch (? Brawling has no default?) DX 13. At SM -9 this looks impossible, or 3-4 only.]

Junior House Again

Jareth continues to slowly grasps the slippery leech on his googles...

OOC:  Last Evaluate, just figure if I can hit 11, then the odds on in my favor.

AHA!  I knew there was an easier way to do this:

DFRPG Monsters:
"Grabbing a leech in one second requires a DX roll, at -9 for SM; carefully doing so takes two seconds but requires no roll. Then roll vs. ST at -3 to pull it off; this inflicts 1 HP of injury. Even 1 point of flame damage will make the leech let go."

So Jareth now removes the leech from his goggles (wiggly little shit), and Jocelyn's will fall off in a moment on it's own, or someone can hold a torch close enough to burn it and her...

Mario, short on hands (holding his quarterstaff with one), grabs Jocelyn's wrist with his (gloved) free hand, and loops the sling on the staff around her arm before releasing it to free that (also gloved) hand to grab the now-fat leech; once he has a grip, he gives a steady pull.

[Private to GM: 19:01, Today: Mario Crowfoot rolled 7 using 3d6.  ST - 3 (10 - 3 = 7) to pull leech off Jocelyn's wrist.]

Ouch! ... they don't let go, they tear out flesh! The salt should have done it, but if not we can use a touch of heat which will also move his butt. Cigarettes were great for removing leeches.

This one effectively jumped for "chinks in armor" space at the end of where your salted fat was rubbed, up your sleeve.

As they move the flame close to it, it explodes, spattering Jocelyn, Mario, and Clarence with her blood!

As Jareth squishes the leech in his gloved hand, he sees them get covered in gore, "An that be why fy armor designed like is."

He turns to survey the area they've crossed as Brodak looks into the next room...
