Re: The Beast of Veroigne

In reply to Balir Ironhide (msg # 769):

"I am not asking others to endanger themselves, but am accepting the risk myself. Do you really think they cannot see more than half a mile from the tower? Of course they can see us, even travelling to the farmhouse. Hell, they can probably see people walking up to 20 miles away, unless they are in the forest, which is fraught with even more danger.

There is no stealth in approaching the tower. The only difference is us being aware.

"Kirpich, why? To what advantage?" asks Hannatti now that the priest has articulated his intent.

Re: The Beast of Veroigne

In reply to Balir Ironhide (msg # 772):

"I respect the groups desire not to approach, but if they are free, then every night they are not sealed in they get stronger an innocent suffer. That is not something I can justify before Grom because you voted not to listen to me.

Besides, the first night they were free, they were approaching the farmhouse. If they are free, they will approach it again regardless of whether we approach the tower. Ensuring it is sealed is the only way, short of killing them all, of ending the menace. Since we cannot kill them all in one day, it should be done, even if I have to do it alone.

"I already suggested attacking today, when we arrived. But you didn't want that. Now you want to check if the are free, and then possibly attack, but not attack if they are not?"

"Has your God explicitly instructed you to do this?" asks Hannatti. "Because otherwise you need to listen to yourself. Realise that for no gain you willingly risk our lives and our advantage of surprise.. ."

OOC: When we, as PCs, form a group there is a committment that we will respect and care for each other. That includes respecting group decisions. When we , as players, come together there is an expectation that we will help each other have fun. This isn't feeling like fun any longer, not since this 'Wangrod defence'(I'm just playing my char stuff) started. Am I the only one feeling this? Ie feeling uncomfortable?

Re: The Beast of Veroigne

In reply to Hannatti (msg # 776):

"Grom does have me protect the innocent. You place a great weight on the assumption that we can approach the farmhouse, which was known to them before and is less than half a mile from the tower, in broad daylight undetected. Am I the only one who finds that hard to believe? It was their presence there in the past that caused us to realise we had given them a way out when we entered last time."

[OOC: I am not here to spoil fun. If you want to just go straight to the farm, GM, go for it. I just feel that Kirpich has legitimate concerns that have not been addressed, rather, he is being steamrolled 'because we hastily voted'. IC, he could not in good faith say to Grom he did his best if he did not actually do his best.]

Re: The Beast of Veroigne

Regardless of the actual distance between the farmhouse and tower, Hannatti is relieved that the unpleasantness is behind them and that can follow Aethul to the farmhouse. She nods a thankful ackowledgment to Kirpich and tries to ignore the stab of emotion that the whole thing stirs up. "Aethul, keep going, let's see how the lady is in the farmhouse. Hopefully she's not been turned."

[Private to Kirpich Rockson: I just wanted to say "Thank you".]

Re: The Beast of Veroigne

OOC: Well, Kirpich, I can tell you that the GM told me to ease up on the roleplaying. Specifically, the so-called asshole-disads were to not be roleplayed at all (basically free points I guess). Based on that, I would say you should ease up on going to the tower. Accept the majority vote, and just follow us to the farm house for the night.

Re: The Beast of Veroigne

OOC- I do not think we hastily voted. there was a discussion and the group decided farmhouse first. I think I suggestedd that and gave my rationale.
If Kirpich chooses to disregard that decision, so be it.  But do not expect the rest of the group to go along, be happy or trust him in the future. In fact, the group may choose to go find a new cleric who plays with the team. Actions have reactions.

OOC: Folks, our cleric has agreed to go to the farmhouse and not venture to (or near to) the tower until we go as a group after breakfast tomorrow. I take it at face value and suggest we should maitain party trust. Soooo happy to fast forward to the farmhouse, unless anything untoward happens en route.

In reply to Hannatti (msg # 781):

As you approach the charred fields near the roofless farmhouse, you note that there are many tracks, of both man and horse in this area, perhaps a day old, headinv Southwest,  but not quite along the iter.

The area of the farmhouse seems to be mostly as you recall it
