In reply to Iskander (msg # 875):

After taking enough for a later meal that evening, Saishi invites all to partake, and sets the example!

Re: Pequenauds in the Swamp

"I was about to burn it myself when Saishi grew it in with ground cover -- but the ground cover contrasts.  I suspect burning it off wouldn't help much, either.  My knowledge in meta-magic and summoning is only slight, and the origin of this is most unusual.

"We may have to acquire a nose bag for Guai Ma and feed her that way, to prevent problems in the future, but for now, let me examine the circle more closely; perhaps I can at least tell if it is demonic, Eldritch, or something else."

Chou-Zhen takes his bowl and walks around the edge of the circle as he eats, examining the growth-blurred pattern and comparing it with his memories.

In reply to Chou-Zhen Mou (msg # 879):

the nature of the thing is eldritch; it seems to have been best viewed from a height; think crop circles. The purpose is inclear, but it is liable to have drawn the attention of passing Things, although not as much of a draw as the meteor was.

"I suspect we would need to turn the soil here to erase this circle, and I am not certain that would suffice.  Let me step off its size, if it is not too large I will try that."

OOC: The pattern surrounds the camp?  How big (radius)?

Re: Pequenauds in the Swamp

OOC: I can churn up a 5 yard radius and pretty thoroughly scramble the topsoil in a couple minutes of concentration, but I'd be pretty tired after maintaining Shape Earth that long -- or, I could Create Fire that size and burn off everything grassy above the soil surface in a minute -- and be pretty tired when it's done.  Or I could Create Fire a yard across, use Shape Fire to move it around, and maintain both spells for as long as necessary and recover in ten minutes; ready to travel in an estimated twenty including burning off the circle.

"Perhaps Ming-Sa will aid in filling in the gaps in the wall we built -- another day of that and it will be a true impediment to men and horses in the paddy.  It would not stand up to a siege or sapping, but it will surely turn away a few dozen horsemen or foot soldiers.

As the man is a Baron, he had, in all likelihood, about an even hundred, plus officers, and you did for maybe 20 of them.
