Goran isn't sure, but Stennet is dead certsin that the tracks and giggles are from Doom children  dragging their oversized knives.

"Doom children.  Savage imps the size of toddlers, armed with cleavers, they explode when they die.  Watchdogs and suicidal soldiers of the infernal army.  Easy to summon, easy, but dangerous, to dispatch."

Goran scowls, pulling at the scar on his face.  He wasn't looking forward to this, although the cleansing of evil was a worthy cause.

A disturbingly proportioned small figure with a cleaver toddles out of the nearby bushes, an expression of sick glee on its pustulent face.

Stenet moves to put himself behind (a few paces away) the others who'd turned to face the imp, watching their backs for any flanking Doom Children.

"Knock them away when you hit them, lest they explode in our midst!"

Goran steps up to the creepy and sadistic looking imp, and takes a swing with his flail.  However, his plant foot slips, and he narrowly misses the creature.

Goran grunts and steps back quickly, shifting his mace to his left (and letting the shield hang from it's arm strap) so he can wipe the embers from his singed beard.

Stenet takes another step away from his compatriots, to give them room to back up if necessary, and keeps scanning for surprises from the flanks and rear.
