Stenet stays in the rear keeping a watch out so nothing doubles back and sneaks up on them.

Hograth will be on guard. Probably the thing will go for Melchizadek when it sees him, so he stays in front of him.

Melchizadek will make that easy by staying close to the heavily armoured dwarf, and both move towards the forest.

Hograth is not sure if it is one or more, but it needs cleansing, so he heads in, shield and axe ready...and eyes open for the creature(s).

with a fuendish roar, a bizarre thing rolls down the hill at whoever is in the center of the column.

over 7 feet high, it is a huge lion's head ringed with long legs, rolling toward you like a wheel. either side has a face full of teeth!

Re: Return to temple hill

In reply to demonic lion head (msg # 453):

That would be Hograth at the centre. He braces to receive the attack ready to parry with his axe.

[Private to GM: Parry = 3 + Weapons skill /2 (9 with axe)+1 (Combat reflexes) +3 (DB of shield) = 16, rolled 13 to parry. This gives an attack roll on the offending...thing. Attack roll 9, 9 under skill with axe, so hit (no defense if I understand correctly, because they are attacking?), rolled 10 cut damage, silvered axe]

Melchizadek will stay behind the others, but ready to dive to the side if it looks like this thing might roll over the dwarf...casting sunbolt.

Re: Return to temple hill

Stenet observes the great wheel of demon...

OOC:  21:08, Today: Stenet Fjall rolled 9 using 3d6.  Hidden Lore (Demons) 12.  What kind of demon, does it have a weakness, or vulnerability?

Re: Return to temple hill

In reply to Stenet Fjall (msg # 456):

this looks like a lesser version of the demon lord Buer, who has goat legs instead of three toed feet.

Hograth, you cannot parry a trample! dodge or tske 8pts crushing before DR

where did your attack hit?

more details after this is resolved.

Urrun strikes the head(body?)
[Private to Narrator:4 total from that attack after 5 dr and 1/2 for not silver. the axe is at full vs dr 5 body or dr3 leg]

Re: Return to temple hill

In reply to Narrator (msg # 458):

My bad, I though it was running up to bite me. In that case, Hograth dodges back out of the way, cutting at the creatures legs as it goes past. How many legs does it have?

[Private to GM: Rolled 3 under unmodified dodge, so 6 under retreating dodge. Same attack roll then, Attack roll 9, 9 under skill with axe, rolled 10 cut damage, silvered axe]

Melchizadek will also dodge easily out of the way as he casts his spell, since he was behind Hograth.

the thing has five legs, and good news, they are its point of vulnerability!
