In reply to Safwan (msg # 311):

"He seems pretty normal to me. Well, he's not human and he's a lax when it comes to- But that's a good thing! Also he said books?"

Berry notices the creature leaving and dashes over.

"Wait for me! I like books! Also, quick and easy paths to power."

Safwan is pleased to share [grunt] knowledge with one so eager. "Knowledge is power," so read fast would be [grunt] the quickest way, Safwan guesses.

Re: The Black Tower
In reply to Var (msg # 326):

Safwan crosses the hall avoiding one of the master's servants with a club ready chasing a rat. "They keep the [grunt] alimaņas at bay." Another sliding door reveals a medium room crowded with bookshelves and a writing desk. The room is very clean, though it looks like some of the shelves have had books removed. "Safwan shares this [grunt] knowledge with you freely, but you mustn't take any of the master's books from this room."

Gareth looks through the room.

"Tell us more about the master..." as he glances across the shelves to see the range of book, looking for magic ones.

Berry will also wander, looking for books. Not being able to take the books makes things trickier. If she finds something good, maybe Var can manage.

Re: The Black Tower
In reply to Berry (msg # 335):

thebooks look to be of good quality, and as far as you can guess by the titles, the section on Thaumatology is missing, although there are one or two occult titles.

the books are a mix of Valdassyan and Aralaise, witha few in Elvish, Latin, and Greek. There are books on herbs "Herbology", architecture "Confabulum Construtori", natural philosophy "A booke of Beasties" and a gemreat many others, nearly a hundred... even for ordinary topics, these are worth $50-$400 each...

In reply to Narrator (msg # 336):

as you are looking at the books, a wall panel slides open and a wooden construct that is part feather duster part broom steps out, and begins dusting the shelves, and then sweeping the dust.
a much smaller one sweeps the pile toward a diagram etched onto the floor, where the dust disappears.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 337):

So, no new spells? Of course the Thaumatology section is missing...Gareth will spend as long as he can there.

When the cleaners come out, Gareth watches it closely, looking at the spot where stuff disappears. He will find something useless to put there to test it...a stone or similar.

a book bound in pale leather with a tattooed cover appears to be a historical text written in lizardscript.

to Gareth, where are you getting a stone? You do note that the automotons are not harmed by the spot in question.

Haveron is lookina at the Military History texts with interest.

Berry, make a search or research roll

Amelia, there are some good Atlases, and two volumes of Heraldry, one in Aralaise,  and one in Valdassyan.

"I'd really, really like books that most suitable for the studious to further their knowledge. I was thinking of annotated map collections and, as a change of topic, heraldry, you know, coats of arms, noble and knightly histories, that sort of thing." She looks inquisitively at Safwan. "I have no idea if you can appreciate other people's appreciation, but I do appreciate your help: so thank you!" She gives him a small curtsy while watching for any sign of recognition, reaction or mild surprise..

She examines some of the books, looking for anything akin to a map of the tower as well as setting aside a pair of atlases and a pair of heraldry books.
