Re: The Black Tower

In reply to Gareth (msg # 515):

"Whatever gave you that idea, Gareth? It's far more important how you are than what you are!" says Amelia, still looking for something she might wear.

"Well, like I said, it has been a very long time. Hell, it was a long time before I got pickled!"

He seems to have finished looking for scrolls...

Re: The Black Tower

In reply to Gareth (msg # 517):

"Well, if you're still interested in that sort of thing, you could always try a little Cologne. Just a little. But don't be curmudgeonly and certaily don't mention age, expecially yours," replies Amelia, choosing her words with the care she would in putting together an outfit. She fondly fingers her cameo necklace, remembering some favourite outfits for 'ladies who party'. She sighs. "And, Gareth? if by 'picked' you mean having a party, well, if invited, I'd join you. If I can get a nice outfit and if you promise not to be curmudgeonly."

She turns to the other, uncomfortably aware how silent that are. "How about you, Berry, when was the last time you went to a party?"

"Well, my dear, I didn't say that you were, just saying it's a good thing not not to be so. Just trying to help, you know?" clarifies Amelia, flashing Gareth an encouraging smile. "I guess four hunded years takes a lot of adjustment. I'll try and help, if you want me to."

Re: The Black Tower

In reply to Gareth (msg # 521):

She takes a few moments to walk across to the unusally ancient fellow, "Not saying it'll be easy for either of us, but I promise to try my best and you do the same? Deal?" She offers him a hand in a man-like manner to seal it, although her grip definitely isn't man-like.

Re: The Black Tower

In reply to Amelia Montaigne (msg # 522):

Gareth is not the most muscular individual himself, and is startled by the approach, not quite sure how to respond. Hesitantly, he accepts the hand with an evident element of disbelief.

"Uh, it is usually undead who make such offers to me. Even before I was captured, most of my friends remained long after they died horribly. Perhaps I can introduce you to some of them, though now I only hear them. I have not seen them since I was captured."

[Private to GM: Just to refresh from his character sheet, the source of his phantom voices (and perhaps his weirdness magnet) is his ancient past: Gareth was born in a small village. When he was young, the village was burned to the ground, with many of the family and friends he knew burnt alive. Seeing them disappear as they were consumed by the flames, he went mad, and now believes they still live on in the flames, having being 'redeemed' from the troubles of this world they now live in an eternal 'paradise' of fire.

Up to you, the GM, if you want them to actually be spirits he can hear, or jus a level of insanity...also up to you if they are spirits if others can hear them, or if they can manifest! Have fun with that!

Amelia smiles blankly, not really understanding.

She retieves her hand and then addresses Berry again, "How about you, Berry, when was the last time you went to a party?"

[Private to Gareth: weirdness magnet is residual from years in the elder thing village]

Amelia finds a comfortable velvet wrap-robe that is unisex, and a pair of slippers in the clothes press.
there were no scrolls in the room, it is, while nice, sparse.

a bit like a mid range hotel room.

With a gleeful smile Amelai slips into the velvet robe and sashays around, "Does it suit me? What do you think, Gareth? Berry?"

She glides towards their guide, "Am I allowed to keep this, Safwen?"

"The greenish color suits you I suppose. There ought be more treasure here than bathrobes though."

the slippers fit, and are fairly comfortable.

This looks more like a guest chamber. the master's robes were more ornate.

accross the hall and to the right of this room are similar pairs of double doors, and a singular door is down the hall.

"Thanks, er, Safwan. Would you like some new clothes too?" asks Amelia, as she looks down to look at the robes on her leg.

In reply to Haveron Stormwal (msg # 530):
She does a doubletake at Haveron, "Why, thank you, Haveron. That's charming of you so say so. I'd almost forgotten you were here, so quiet you've become." She smiles to underscore it's just social chit chat and not intended as criticism.

"But you are right, I do not believe this to be a hotel."

He gives the doors a pull, seeing if they are locked.
