"They got Shroud again!" Amelia warns. She glances around to see where she can retreat to if he tries to stick her with anything sharp.

"I can talk them to death," offers Amelia. "No. Seriously. I can't. That was a poor taste joke. I'm nervous." She fiddles with her necklace.

Berry adds unhelpful advice. Pretty sure some mental attacks can be helped by healing magic. Or maybe some healing magic can help mental attacks. Or some healing magic can help with certain mental attacks. Or I misremember. One of those for sure.

The Adept shrugs and pulls Shroud away from the door a fair distance (say 30 feet or so) and tries a healing spell

[Private to GM:  19:46, Today: Adept Yisslitheniss rolled 12 using 3d6.  Minor healing - 2 points on Shroud. Missed by one, BUT did have physical contatct with him which used to give a +1 ... your call.]

In reply to Narrator (msg # 879):

Gareth is not sure, but keeps watch all the same. He recasts burning death, to hold it for the next assailant if one is seen approaching through the fire.

[Private to GM: Rolled 8 under modified skill to cast burning death, if someone is seen. FP cost paid in case. Rolled dodge if needed, but attack with staff was a miss, in case it is relevant. Should I use these rolls for their first attack, or just reroll them just in case of needing them each round?]
