“Cripes, did that thing used to be human?  Hope I don’t end up like that.” He checks to make sure his parts are still solid.

In reply to Masugatan (msg # 162):

"I guess that is what happens to alchemists that do not take care..." Emma comments.

Is the humanoid shape still alive?

What has she found with the glistening object?

Re: The Alchemist's Lair

In reply to Emma Wilson (msg # 163):

the smouldering remains of the alchemist move no more. from above, water dripsonto smashed reagent jars and runs down the wall.

in one corner, amongst the smashed glassware,  there are the remains of an alembic, scales and weights, all now made of gold!

Jednesa sits down and looks at the bottom of her foot to make sure she got all the 'jelly' off, in case it is catching.

Then she will hold her handaxe under the dripping water until all the jelly slime is rinsed off of it.

"Hmmm.  Anyone find any oil or lard.  Jednesa will need to oil club."

"Oh, Holiness, that was once a man!"  The younger sister gapes in horror.  "Better to have died right out than that.  And how long was he like that, stuck in that room?"

She will pull her hand back before she touches them at Masugatans' warning. He did have a point. Was there any sign of a liquid on them? Were they all touching one item? Did it look like they were originally made of gold?

"The lucky bastard actually did it! I hope he left notes in this book of his! The Great Work of Alchemy is not without its risk - he looks to have had many potions brewing at once when something combusted, and he and the trigers got a mixed dose of the rest. Such a pity, but goodness grackles!"

the gnome opens his kit, fills a marjed glass vessel with water from the clogged sink, and returns. He takes out a set of weights sililar to the gold ones, matches the marker on it and proceeds to drop them into the beaker, one after another.
"This displaces at a differential of 19 to 11 for the lead weights."
he takes a minutecto read the room dmfull of blank stares.

"Myself, Holy Sister, and Emma, of course, but unless Emma is holding some secrets, none of us have raised the dead; I think it unlikely Holy Sister or I could do so without, at the least, a large congregation to support a ritual."

She looks around the rooms, and at the condition of the body.

"He may be too long gone to bring back in any case."

Emma does not know how to bring back the dead herself, though her faith does practice that, and she can lend energy to such. Does she know if it is possible? What should she roll to know that?
