Glancing over McNealy's shoulder, Evelina seems taken aback.

Elaina pushes in to get a look as well.

"Oh, Holiness, that looks uncomfortable.  I think it was just someone doodling.  He was apparently living alone way out here, days from Northport, after all."

"Even if you scrape the ink off the parchment, what's left will remain faintly visible.  Whether that would be enough to satisfy her prudishness, it's hard to say; I don't know her that well.

"It might be easier to carefully paint over the doodles -- the time for the ink or paint to dry would be the longest part of that."

"I do wonder, though, if the drawings might have some meaning.  I seem to recall wizards and alchemists being secretive folks, when it comes to their knowledge."
