the ogre spits in his palm to shake hands with Jednesa,  although once she grasks his hand, he pulls in for a back thumping hug.

"Hahah!"  She lifts him in a bear hug, then sets him down and steps back, giving the dire wolves head and necks scratches as they leave, starting with the alpha, and ending with the alpha.  "Maybe see Zlobr again on way back to city in few days!  Maybe have treats for good puppers!"

The sisters blink several times (in sync), then wave to the ogre and his dire wolves and begin stowing their slings and recoiling their whips.

"Are we hitting the road, then, or is there time to sleep a little more before daylight?"

Masugatan raises his thumb approvingly.  It’s the first time he has ever made this gesture, although he has plenty of experience displaying other protuberances.  For example, his middle fingers.

In reply to Jednesa (msg # 477):

Right. I assume we returned to camp, as mentioned, rested at least long enough to be back to full health and then departed. So Christine would be noticing the burnt vegetation quietly, until someone comments on it

"Indeed. Perhaps we should be ready to resist fire..."

How open is the terrain?

I am not sure Christine was aware that that the one she was seeking was a dragon. I had worked out that there would be a dragon in the area, but unsure if they were a hindrance to the seeker or the seeker themselves...

Re: The Alchemist's Lair

Narrator:
does Jednesa know the plan was to ask the dragon how to cast a spell?

OOC:  Nope.  No one has explained anything to Jednesa except "we're going to a place" and "it's wild" and "there may be dragons".

In fact, having gone over the threads where it could have been revealed to her and all that has been said about a dragon is:

Christine:
"There are several ways to our destination. One involved a dragon. The other involved many powerful beasts. I think I would prefer to fight beasts, because they are likely to be more profitable. But what do all of you ladies, and of course Hugh, seek? I already know what Masugatan seeks!" she smiles, knowingly.

Basically Jednesa heard "dragon" but was not present when Christine paid for the info and was told "do not kill the dragon, parlay (or sneak*) past it to the shrine".

* I say "sneak" because if we went the other way around the valley, we'd get to the shrine without having to deal with the dragon, which in parlaying was mentioned it is fond of riddles and princesses, so it stands to reason that sneaking is also a possibility.

I think either Christine has forgotten, because I keep repeating "gonna wrestle dragon", or she doesn't want to disappoint Jednesa, or she's hoping to parlay for a friendly wrestling match (which might just be safer anyway).

I have to admit, I'm mildly intrigued to see which.

You were told that the Dragon is the shrine's guardian and killing the dragon will snuff out the eternal flame, presumably this is a bad thing.

I have to admit that OOC I have no idea what you're supposed to do at the shrine, I figured it would be a "you'll figure it out" once we got there.
