*Oh lucky her. Let's get moving..." Christine say coldly.

After finishing their rest, they break camp and move on.

Once on the road, the elder sister walks alongside Christine for a while.

"So the ogre has seen dragon men in this region?  But we're expecting an actual dragon before we reach our destination?"

"Yes, and possibly one that will be helpful, perhaps even crucial to our mission."

"So, a wise, gentle dragon, not a ferocious and terrible one?  How sure are we about that, really?"

"Not at all. That is why we have Jednessa. But with all the diviners in Northport dead or disappeared, we have to do what we can.  Someone is clearly doing something that can be divined..."

"Oh, we hadn't heard that -- we just got to Northport a few days before joining up with your group.  Hmm.  Sounds like you're setting yourself up as bait, then."

She smiled.

"More or less. A plethora of foes is what make Jednessa and I such good friends. The fact that many of them are evil is why Emma is also a good friend. But we do not promise a peaceful existence, just a rewarding one."

"Pretty sure 'peaceful' quit being an option for Holy Sister and me the first time the frog god gave me the power to work a miracle.

"My grandpere used to say 'It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye,' but nobody lost any eyes -- we just lost our parents and our home.  I heard a Triunist priest say something like 'A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country.'  I think that's how it goes."

After giving Masugatan a hard stare,  Val chimes in.
"I met a guy once, Sahudese mercenary with a gold tooth, flashy hand flail and fancy glaive, claimed he was descended from a dragon, that some of his ancestors were scaly fire breathers.
What I mean is, the dragonmen might be related to the dragon of the shrine."

Masugatan rubs his hands together, feeling a sudden chill come over him.

Emma enjoys the sun, and giggles a little at Val's response to Masugatans pointless boasting.

"If you were half as good as you boast, she would be doing the boasting and you could keep your mouth shut, as you should."

"It has been so far, Christine.  Everyone loves a miracle or two, but when it comes time to dance naked in the rain and get smeared with mud, they want to run us out of town.  Not sure why they object so much -- we used to do that even before the frog god."

"Yes, but people feel comfortable explaining that behaviour with excessive alcohol, but much less comfortable doing that for a frog. Or maybe the other religions get jealous."

"We just sunbathing naked on warmer days. Nobody seems to mind, and often the more seedy individuals come to watch.

Which is why I prefer to do it without a male audience."

"Jealousy.  Yeah, I guess that's possible.  Most of the older religions seem to think having fun makes it wrong, or at least if you're also naked.

"Come to think of it, there was always a priest around about that time."

"There is a common ideology that the less fun you have, the happier the gods will be with you. I do not find this to be in line with a god who cares though, and not all gods have that concept. Indeed, I think the entire idea actually come from people..."

"Perhaps that's the entire problem, then.  Nothing in what the frog god has taught us makes it seem that we shouldn't enjoy our worship rituals, and since both Holy Sister and I found dancing in the rain and playing in the resulting mud great fun as children, we very much do enjoy our worship.  Perhaps less so in winter, though I never seem to feel the cold until the dancing is done and it's time to wash off the mud."
