The saddle horse we bought is worth $1,200, would have a resale value of $720 if the Guild is willing to buy, or $300 if you have to sell elsewhere.  The injured horses will probably go for around $260 (injured, stolen) with the Guild (if they'll buy them), $172 elsewhere.  If you opt to keep them, it'll cost some amount to have their brands altered (probably about $120), will cost $150 a week to stable them ($450 for all three ex-Mage Guild horses), and they'll probably need at least one week stabling to heal up.

They could also probably be sold to the meat markets for a couple hundred each and would instantly solve the "branding" and healing issues...

If you think we'll have another 'away' mission, it might be worth stabling the saddle horse for a day or two.  If you think away missions will become a 'way of life', it might be worth trying to keep the Mage's Guild horse, maybe.

Virgilio, if you opted to take any of the above armor (which is pretty heavy, but good protection) let me know and I'll remove it from the list.  If you took any DR 1 Light Cloth armor (Average Quality Gambeson, cap, boots, and gloves), or Bandit armor (Cheap cloth, leathers, hide, whatever they had) then no need to mention it, anything you didn't opt to carry out we dumped at the Bandit Camp.  Also note you have a Small Leather Backpack, though it stinks/stank of Ogre (can't remember if you tried to wash it or not).


Mission Payout:  8,000$ - 1,600$ advance = 6,400$/5 ways (Aegis, Alice, Dilandua, Dne, Reanna) = $1,280 per share

Loot Payout:  $3,256 per full share (Aegis, Alice, Dilandua, Dne, Reanna, Virgilio), $817 for a half share (Guillaume).

OOC:  Loot Payout, Mission Payout, and Total, are all right there at the bottom.  Total currently includes paying Guilluame an extra bump.  Note that cutting Guillaume of that extra amount would increase each other person's share by roughly $135.

Guilluame was paid in advance for the job, 7 days work.

Cutting Virgilio out as well, would increase every else's share by roughly $650.

If you want to buy an item instead of selling it, just decrease the amount you would receive by the amount of it's Sell Price.  Thus to purchase both Silvered Meteoric Daggers would reduce your share by $336.

OOC: due to weight, I had stuck with light bandit armor pieces.  Haven't yet tried to wash the backpack; likely will try to get it cleaned up soon (player didn't realize it smelled of ogre).  Also, I've been carrying one of the staves, as a useful tool, but will release it for sale -- too flashy.

Obviously, I like the idea of receiving a share, but I don't feel it's owed to me.  There are ways for even an apprentice wizard to make a few coins.  Especially one who doesn't get tired from casting.

Edit: Oh, and Dilandua?  Pretty sure $8000 five ways is $1600.  Did you divide only the $6400 (the $1600 advance divided up before leaving Northport)?

Dne doesn't seem to want to be bothered with details.  He just wants his share.  Those fruit-fed larvae snacks cost money, after all.

Maybe, so far it's one vote to pay Guilluame extra, one vote against, one vote doesn't care, and we haven't heard from Alice or Aegis.  Those shares also don't account for the horses, if you want to have the staves checked for additional enchantments, or the paper and books.

Adding Balanced (+4 CF) would cost ... ZOD dammit.  I made a mathing error, and a [two]* damn basic one[s].  Hang on, I'ma fix the whole damn table...

* I bungled Cost Factors all by 1 and was treating the resell value as 66% instead of 60%.  Also went ahead and added the "what it would look like if we'd sold it somewhere besides the Guild fences" line so you could see the difference having Guild rank makes.


Okay, now, adding Balanced (+4 CF) would cost $80 per knife.  I don;t know that you can make them Fine, it's up to Gwythaint, but most GMs I've seen kibosh it as that's pretty muich a "when forged" Quality (right along with Dwarven, Elven, Fine, Meteoric, Orichalcum, Faerie, Poison Metal, Solid Silver, Sylvan, Tempered Glass, and Very Fine).

OOC:  Copy.  We can deal with those costs and incomes seperately... (as long as nothing goes wrong).  Take the staves to Speilgud, he's the Guild guy that does enchantment analyzing.  In fact, you should bring Virgilio along, he might be able to get a discount from Speilgud by refilling his mana after every casting (Analyze Magic costs 8 per casting and has to be cast for every enchantment on the item, it also takes an hour though.... so... 2 hours minimum).  Good spell for both Dne and Virgilio to learn, but it's 2 prerequisites deep (Detect Magic - Identify Spell - Analyze Magic), so don't know how ready either are for going that route (or if Speilgud would even want to teach it, it's a good income generator for him).

Gwythaint, the horse flesh?  Is the Guild interested in 3 "slightly abused" horses?

And Dilandua is reporting back in the the Twilight House, should I hie off to the Twilight House thread briefly?

OOC: Apprentices are generally learning as fast as they can to increase what they can make a living with after apprenticeship ends => don't have any/many CP to spend.  Analyze Magic is a spell I'd love to have and I already have Detect Magic (prerequisite for the Mage Sight I used to check what had magic on it) -- but I haven't the CP to spend today.

I am very happy to Lend Spielgud the energy for multiple castings to speed up multiple Identify spells, however -- if we can trust him (I have recent reason not to trust powerful mages, who'd rather keep their power sources tightly in hand) -- but at an hour per casting, I can easily see it running to days and hundreds of francs (though of course each known enchantment adds to the value).  Do we know whether Spielgud is a member of the Mages' Guild?  Or will we be able to scrub the marks off the staves first?

We've been quoted a price for removal (albiet as an OOC price reduction) so I don't see why not.  Might cost more to remove them for keeping than the price reduction, but if it's worth it, it's worth it.

I think the concrn is about which guild Speilgud is a member of. Northport Adventurers Guild= Good, Mages Guild (aka the guys we just made disappear) = problem. Will check with our guild before we get any mages help...

OOC:  Speilgud is a member of the Adventurers Guild, I don't believe there are any Mage's Guild reps/open members in Northport (but I could be wrong).

I say this because teh Mage's Guild constrains who can learn magic, where Speilgud only cares that the coin you pay him isn't counterfeit.
