What use is silver to a being of fire? It has a low melting point and is not useful as a tool or much else.
Buying things is unlikely a need.  I should think glass and steel are more value to such a being.

OOC:  Does the door open inwards or out, and is there space to move to either side of it in case the Flame Lord starts chucking fireballs out of it once Jareth opens the door?

Once everyone moves out to either side, etc, Jareth will indeed crack the door open and peek through the gap.

Mario takes a position where he'll be able to see through the opening as soon as the door clears the frame, while his right hand locates a silvered arrow by the grooves on its nock -- and waits to see what happens when the door opens.

Mario ducks a little when the fireball shoots past, then recovers to his ready position -- bow raised, but not aimed, and right hand on the nock of the arrow he'll use next (in this case, one of the silvered ones).  In this position, he tries to make out any details of the elemental in order to have an aiming point.
