to clarify:

the door on the second floor of the tower, where the "guest rooms" are is what leads into the low mana gloomy place...you may presu.e that some type of gate magic is at work here.

Safwan has never been t this area before today

Safwan may know how to get to a restricted area,  but we have to play out getting there.

level 1 is the entryway, where you smashed the front door, fought and destroyed stone golems, diced up the self repairing butler, and set off the stone golems by burning the wallpaper.

level 2 down is the golem recharge room

level 3 down contains the library where Safwan was.

the restricted area is two or three le els deeper.

I like books. Berry will go with anyone that is going to a library.

This one doesn't recommend that we split up, though Safwan fears the tower will be further invaded if the gate is unattended.

Don't have magelock. Can we bar the door? Gareth is happy to create fire on the stairs on the other side of the door. Can they be broken? Looking for ways to avoid splitting the party without us getting invaded...happy for suggestions!

Amelia has no idea how this tower works but suggests, "When I had sleepovers and didn't want parents 'checking' we'd put a wedge under the door."

He struggles to remember the spell...  and attempts to cast it...  it almost works... he shrugs off the fatigue and concentrates to cast again, this time it takes with real power.
