Berry will move at a normalish pace, making sure not to fall behind. (And leading the way if no one else does.) What are these guys anyway? How did they get here? They're intruders like- uh, intruders?

Haveron looked at berry and shrugged. "Don't know what they are... and until they start talking, there's probably not much in the way of time to spend finding out. Once we've got to where we need to be we can look into that... he said and then paused, for a moment glassing over as he ran through his own experiences in life ... I've never seen or even heard anything like them before but for now I'm happy to put my sword through them until I get a good reason to do otherwise he said grimly, and then cocked a smile.

In reply to Safwan (msg # 5):

Safwan knew from reading some old texts before the Master became paranoid and took the interesting books out of their reach that:
There are beings of the outer darkness that prey on the likes of men.  the void brutes are men that became their thralls, and the reavers sound like a people that escaped this unnatural bondage by learning the Eldritch ways of their captors.

Gareth has knowledge of Items, Undead and Fire, but not that. I assume no default roll is possible...even for his background?

Does Safwan share his knowledge?

We are continuing our trek upstairs as we originally planned. Safwan thinks it likely we will meet many more horrors of the tower before we reach the top.

the gloom of the void presses down on you ominously. the very air feels thin, and you cannot see very far ahead of you. the mages can tell this is a low mana area.
