"Do you think we will have as much fun as the last trip?"

"I can just as easily make it so only mages can see by the light -- but then it won't benefit you.  Or I could make it no brighter than moonlight if that's preferred."

"I have equpped the trolls with dark glasses that allow for some light without affecting them negatively.
Mages pay the same as fighters, a scout? If you are suitably stealthy I pay the same... Is this ogrekin a warrior or laborer?"

Jendrich smiles as he shakes Grohm'Thal's hand. "I hope not. After all the time Ulo spent making her tunnel, I'd rather not see it brought down by another of those giant worms!"

"I had to pay for a cleaning spell to get all of the rot smell out of my armor.  It was bad."

"Since I presume that the humans among the party would have torches or lanterns anyway, I'll make the light as bright as a torch, then.  One torch you won't have to burn at any given time.

"I can also create fires that need no fuel and can burn as long as I remain awake, and unlimited amounts of water, or purify any we might find.

"This should be an interesting change from the Library archives."

He once more goes through a long-seeming ritual (though shorter than the last one).  The top end of his staff begins to glow, as bright as a torch, but whiter and steadier.

"A few, Dne.  Probably not anything this group will pay for.  I'm competent with my staff and crossbow, but I have no illusions how long I'd last in a fight with experienced combatants.  My research skills won't be much use on a trading run, nor most of my Knowledge magic."

"Knowledge magic? Does that mean it can decipher damaged texts, or the stories behind old places? Because if we follow the same path back, we'll be passing right next to an old necromancer's hideout."

Grohm raised an eyebrow and looked back and forth between Jendrich and Virgilio.

"Sadly no, um, Jendrich.  I'm, er, I was a research apprentice.  'Knowledge' is a college of magic that starts from detection spells and works up to spells like that, but those are things I'd have learned over the next three years of training -- or not, if I didn't choose a research career path in the end.  The ones I know are mostly pointed at a specific one to remember my way -- rather helpful in an archive the size of a small town, with literally thousands of book shelves and no prior planning in the layout.  Next in line would probably have been one to find a specific item -- say, a particular volume in the archive."

"Ah, I had thought the flash I learned to be nearly useless, but I see that in a dark place it might well be blinding.  Perhaps we should have a warning word, however; those with sensitive eyes might well be dazzled even with their protective lenses.

"I propose that if I shout 'Cover!' everyone should close their eyes -- or at the least look away from me -- for the space of two heartbeats."

"Master Rushagorn, are we going the same way back?  Shall we improve upon the side tunnel around the golem mage's area?"

Dne practices covering his eyes.

"Ulo, good to see that you made it. Do you have anything to load into the wagon?", Grohm said, greeting the troll wife.

"Wait.  Golem mage?"  Virgilio's eye aren't actually the size of dinner plates, but that's the simile that comes to mind.
