"A mage in a metal form, wielding star metal."  Virgilio's voice tone has gone flat, like one repeating an impossible statement.

"And D'ne, I don't recall which kind, but some golems actually like lightning.  Others enjoy fire.  I haven't studied golems in any detail, but just making one requires many spells and a lot of energy.  Inhabiting one, like a possession?  I'd have to get back to the Library to even figure out how that would work.

"Meantime, I'd suggest we either avoid him, or give him what he wants, if it's possible."

"It mostly seemed to want polite discussion and for me to stop blocking off the tunnels, which is why I'd prefer to move our side tunnel just a little bit off from it's rooms.  Though, I am still curious about what is in the rooms on the other side that we did not explore."

Dne shudders at the mere thought of a peaceful solution to the golem question.

As they descend the stairs, Virgilio runs through a gesture, then repeats it with a word that causes a floating light, like a candle flame, to spring from his staff tip and float gently down the stairwell as he descends.

Tommy will head down as directed. He will ask about the route he is to scout.

Jendrich moves in position to cover the caravan, more confident now that he has an idea of what threats could be found here.

He moves forward to the front of the procession,  where his skills may be most useful.

Grohm'Tahl fell in with Jedrich, leaving Syvanus to bring up the third spot. Two good melee fighters backed up by a skilled archer would set doubt in the mind of most threats, he though.

Virgilio stays near the center of the group, holding his staff with glowing end high so the light covers as much space as possible.  He keeps his other hand on a corner post of one of the carts, so he can spare attention to look up and around at the walls and ceilings.

Dne also lingers in the rear for the time being.  He walks about six inches off the ground in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Ülo settles into the 'front of the middle'.  Close enough to the front she can call out and steer them if needs be, and rush forward if required, but not so close that sudden happenstance would catch her within it.

Trying to limit the annoying tone of his voice by speaking softly, Virgilio asks, "We're headed toward the troll colony now?"  Of course, it just comes out as a stage whisper, followed by a softer mutter: "Where do you suppose the trolls lived before these ruins were buried?"
