"I can bury them with almost no visible ground disturbance, by magic, and in the ground they'll rust away in a matter of months or a few years at most.

Best we hurry, though, we wouldn't want to lose sight of the Procession."

Re: On the Road to Autumn

Gordab offers to try and cleave one of the coins.

His first misses, but the second time, after many practice swings, actually hits with a clang,
and there is an angry puff of oily black smoke

Re: On the Road to Autumn

The ogrekin, after wedging the coin in a stump, is able after several practice swings to strike the coin.
There is a screech like a kettle boiling when he strikes it, and a puff of greasy black smoke erupts from where the coin had been.

"Very much surer than burying the coins to let them rust.  Good work, Gordab.

"Now, we need to hurry to catch up with the Procession, if we haven't already lost it."

Re: On the Road to Autumn

The procession, which you can see is quite long,
wends its way through the woods, until it opens on a vast moonlit plain.
There, you can see green glowing spectres in ancient legionnaire armor
gathering their spears and shields into a massive wicker-man like effigy.

An honor guard surounds a corporeal deal man in the purple toga and golden laurels of an emperor toward the wicker man.
