Time for a beating

As you leave the guild, enroute to Kalvo's place, you hear a bustle in the
marketplace of the mercantile district. A strange furry creature is drinking
 from the public fountain.

Re: Time for a beating

The creature holds a large spear in his left hand and is scooping up large handfuls of water with his right hand, spilling more than makes it to his mouth, and his scant clothing, little more than a loin cloth, some pouches, and a curious collection of sticks hung about him, leaves little doubt that he is indeed a he.  After a few more minutes of this he turns aside from the fountain and removes the last shred of doubt by relieving himself on a nearby statue.

[Private to GM: Not that well it would seem ....

15:44, Today: Secret Roll: Haere Atu rolled 14 using 3d6. Perception @13  how well is he keeping tabs on the crowd?

Re: Time for a beating

Drawing the short straw, I walk to the inner edge of the crowd near the beast and get the attention of someone in the crowd
"I'm new here, is this normal or is that bad?"

Re: Time for a beating

Visibly startled by the sudden voice nearby the creature turns suddenly toward the speaker, unfortunately without ceasing his previous activity.  "Speak good.  Who you small man?"

Re: Time for a beating

As it appears that danger is not imminent, Danos exits the crowd and joins his companions.

"Greetings, traveler. If you're quite done waving that spear of yours at the whole of the market, we'd like to know what brings you here."
