I was going to run her forward 5, turn left, forward 2, turn left again.  Give her a +3 defmod and partial cover behind the crater wall from all the enemies.  She's got a 6 gunnery so she needs to get close to make an decent shots...jumping pretty much kills it completely cause to get out of the crater and have any defmod she'd need to jump as well meaning no chance of a shot next round either.

True, but then she is needing a pilot check to not lose half the IS in her legs.

slow is relative i suppose, since the low g really makes everyone a little more quicker.

Too bad no decompression, but that's still about 1/3rd of the armor off of both locations!

I just wish my SRM6 was close enough to nudge.  Then I could have gotten multiple decompress chances.  That or 2 Edge so I could have nudged the torso up to a decompress and kill his AC/5.

Still, I'll likely have a fair amount of counterfire coming my way so I'm holding my breath till it's all done.

Yea, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The OpFor is going to be putting a lot of firepower out this turn, and we aren't going to be able to shoot back much.

This shooting phase could make or break this for us :x

Yes and no.

A lot of our guys are too far back to do anything this round or maybe even next if the OpFor simply make a cordon to hold us off...they've got no reason to push much more forward.  We have to close in to knife-fighting range to engage and have a chance at driving them off.  Still even if a few of us go down this round to decompression we still will outnumber them.  But it's going to hurt cause if they hold our guys are going to need next round simply moving to get into long range while they can keep us at medium and short.

Make it for us this round, no.  Break it, no.  Next round when all the opfor can lay into the majority of our units then it could break us.

Yea...

I'm just really worried that they will get lucky and nail 5-6 of us with LRM's and AC/2's.

They have a lot of those...

Well much like my shots on the Dragon.  Even with a hit a decompress isn't an 'easy' TN to hit.  That said, we're going to take some pain this round regardless.  Just wish more people were closer to get some shots in as well and get into hard combat next.

Engage is the name of the game.  Get in range and start pelting.

I'm just hoping a few others have shots, even bad ones, and can take themin the off chance they connect.  Certainly I don't advocate massively overheating on TN11/12+ shots but at least taking them there is a chance. :)

I just wish I had made a full Initiave pass...that Dragon is going to haunt me next round.

Ew, yea.

I know Ziro has some TN 10 shots lined up on the Rifleman with his AC/2's, and I think our whitworth's are pulling into range...

Well. I know exactly where I'm going. I don't necessarily want to go there. At least not until I'm in an Atlas and wielding one or more X-3as armed with Hatchets.

edit: I wonder... if I dropped one of those hatchet-wielding X-3as... would that count as Death from above?

Roger...

Since you hit two locations on the Thorn (Left Leg with the 9 and Center Torso with the 7) you also roll 2d6 for each location to find out if either Decompresses.  On a roll of 10+ it does and the location stops working...so essentially if the leg goes it's crippled and out of action, and if the center torso goes the engine cuts out and is out of action.

Roll 'dem bones and pray for a 10 and we'll have the first cripple on the board for our side. :)
