Re: OOC - Started May 2014

Just have Ana left to work on, so i guess it's okay to release the Unit stats for the next mission.  Let me know if anything needs to be fixed on your character.

Mechs will start with 1/2 their adjusted heat sinks applied to generate a negative value on the heat scale.

Re: OOC - Started May 2014

Yup.

I'm a 3+ with Energy not 5+

My speed for this mission should be 9/14/0 not the regular 6/9/0.

and

I'm running the load with RT/LT Medium Lasers and LA SRM6 with a ton of ammo (15 shots).

Only thing wrong with me is I spent my 50xp to get my Gunnery down to 5+ :D

Level 3 Mission, as decided on by your merc commanders.

I'm sure they have a plan... even if i dont know what it is.

Re: OOC - Started May 2014

I think I pee'd a little when I read that op-for.

This is going to be really, really ugly. I mean, at least their huge mechs will be mitigated somewhat by the vacuum, but they still have a lot of guns, and a lot of really long ranged guns.

But w/e. More money and XP when we win right?

Also, Kitten, you have my skills listed as:
quote:
Gunnery 5 (4 w/Plugsuit)
Pilot   5

Should be
Gunnery 5
Pilot   6 ( 4 w/ Plugsuit, Light Spec)

Or something like that :)

Also, ammo for AC/6 is wrong. It's listed as
quote:
R-LA AC/6 LBX
R-LA LBX(25)Ammo

Should be the following from what I can figure.

R-LA AC/6 LBX
R-LA LBX(16)Cluster Ammo
R-LA LBX(6)Solid Ammo

***GM***
You never gave me the split for the ammo, so i presumed it was all LBX.... why would you want to take slugs on this mission???

***Helia***
(msg # 498)::
5 Jump-Jets                (2.5t) [1 CT, 2 LL, 2 RL]
Arms:  AC/6-LBX +1.5t ammo (5.5t) [RA, LA]
^Loading with 1t cluster, .5t Solid
Torso: 2x Medium Laser     (2.0t) [RT, LT]

Needing slugs is about as likely as me running through 16 rounds of cluster ammo before I get pasted or the mission's over (so, not very), so I figured I would go with flexibility. Who knows, maybe I will need to shoot open a giant door or something :P

Re: OOC - Started May 2014

Since my Panther has 7.5 heat sinks, would it cool down to -7?

In reply to Teri Knight (msg # 69):

Give you half adjusted numbers which would give you 3.75, which was i believe rounded down to -4

Also, the lowest you can go 'down' to will be -5.

Just a flat number bottom across the board.  Having more heat sinks just means you'll get there easier while doing other stuff.

Okay...

I see people are starting to talk planning already, even though there are no maps.

So 'm going to avoid Unit rooms,

Going to assign all the Freelancers to Pax's room to do planning.

I understand that no mech can go below -5, no matter how many heat sinks, right?  Maybe I'm having a blond moment.  I started with 15 heat sinks which work at half efficiency on this run, so I'm down to 7.5.  Wouldn't 7.5 be my half-adjusted number?

7.5 Heat sink is your adjusted Heat sinks for the mission.

so...

3.75 Heat sinks is half your adjusted Heat Sinks for the mission.  (Which is only used for calculating your starting Heat.)

Not too late to take a regular PPC into the mission.  The Heat on an ER PPC is murder.

*Gulp*  Hopefully we'll have the numerical advantage or will only be encountering these guys in 1's and 2's....  those first 2 lances are no joke...

on another note, we were discussing hands and dragging damaged mechs off, I appear to have 1 hand, will that be sufficient for the task?

Re: OOC - Started May 2014

You deal with the full company of 12 mechs at once.

There are 19 merc mechs, so you have a numerical 7 mech advantage, and you have a 10% weight advantage.

The quick drag off rule, since you people cant wait for type up.

If you have two working hand actuators, you can drag your mech weight off, at the reduced 'normal' speed.

If you have one working hand actuators, you can drag 1/2 your mech weight off, at the reduced normal speed.

You can have two mechs working together to pull a mech off, but you move at the speed of your slowest mech.

My bad, sorry.  I was reading through the posts I had missed and hadn't gotten to message 54 yet when I posted that.  In the future I'll finish reading everything before opening my big mouth as the question might already be answered :)

Re: OOC - Started May 2014

Were really close to starting, depends on how 'nice' you want the mission thread to look.

I'm mostly down to reviewing one character, and correcting bookkeeping for the next day or two, while i type up the mission notes.

So my estimate is we'll be off and playing in two or three days.

maybe sooner.

i targeted for 'before' June 1st.  I know it feels like forever for you guys, but much of it was cause of a slide in bookkeeping that really really needed to be done.

Re: OOC - Started May 2014

So I believe my initiative should be 2+ not 3+ (Heirloom, plus 2 ranks tactics) but speaking of initiative in general.. can some one point me to where "partial" vs "full" initiative is covered? I just don't remember seeing partial at all.

Did you account for penalty one for spacesuit Akarian?

Full means you go after all the bad guys.

Partial means you go after the Light and Assault lance, but before the Command lance.

Ah nope, blasted space suit! Never mind :)

Thanks for the clarification. I assume this is because their separate lances with different leadership?
So we could in any mission have 2, 3, or more initiative targets, depending on the opposition layout?

Usually I try and keep it simple with one target number.  The more layers there are the more complicated the turn order gets.  Simple is faster, but it was agreed upon by most ask, that last mission with the tiered intiative, was more interesting and enjoyable so i will keep it for larger scale missions... like this one.
