Re: OOC - Started May 2014
I understand your concern, howeve, remember I'm at a -2 elevation, they couldn't target me even though they would very much like to (especially since i'm the one who spoke to their commander)
on top of that, other than the 23-24 lines there's a double +1 elevation in between as well, from the craters at the center of the map :)
Strategially we're looking at this scenario:
we have:
a small group of long range fire support (2 blackjacks and whatever else)
a LOT of knife fighters (due to constraints of most of us being in light mechs)
they have a good chunk of moderately slow mediums and heavies
but they also have a skirmish lance and a scout lance, meaning we have to have people keeping those just a little bit honest, otherwise we're Fubar'ed.
currently our plan is simple: long range pelts the big bads (zeus, annihilator, Dragon), in the hopes of forcing 3 units off of the map with a single torso decompression.
meanwhile the alrger part of our force moves to engage blue lance, also focusing our fire on larger targets, again hoping for head, torso or leg decompressions.
but a small part of our force also needs to handle the speedies from opforce.
Power loaders generally aren't the fastest mechs out there, we *CAN* become extreemly fast, by essentially dropping 5 tonnes of combat load, but we aren't by default.
so overall, I think it's going well, as long as we don't have more than a small ahndfull of our mechs going onto the western flank, while the alrger part of our fforce circles east to start the engagement tehre.
that also means fire support should veer east, awy from the skirmish/scout lances, and try to stay behind our knife fighters.

as to ana specifically: you are correct, I shouldn't and won't have her just charging in, but she isn't really doing so either.
i put her in that crater for cover, not for the scan, the scan just happened to be a fortunate by product of my initial opening :)
