My games do have a tendency to attract people who are character oriented and love to write and do get dragged down in the individual character stories instead of over-all plot, but I must confess to loving the writing of so many of my players who have always been friends, I always let that happen. lol. I also have a habit of being "soap opera" and letting many stories play out at the same time instead of advancing the Adventures and plots I have set up. When I set up a game I plot many different stories to follow hoping to keep everyone interested in some way, then I get distracted in their own individual story-lines a bit to much. Always been a weakness for me. :)
Maybe if individual stories become important I should break people off into separate groups? I have never done that because by and large most of the players I've had love to read the others writing and stories as much as I do but I do see where that could handle a lot of the timeline issue. I also understand what Edward says about cut-off dates for game time. I have indeed set those up before but always let it slide. Another weakness when I get drawn into the players writing. I confess. I'm a weak GM. I can indeed enforce these matters more though. Some players may leave because of it. I understand real life makes you unavailable very often, but to advance the game it may become necessary and perhaps we'd end up with a more solid core of players?
I'm just throwing thoughts out there and asking for suggestions. I appreciate any input as always.

at 03:30 | Re: GAME ON !I have found that allowing some 'side actions' to either have their own thread or take place privately helps the game move when it needs to. What happens is that the GM states when the game will move forward, and give players a chance to wrap up or do something else as they game moves.
Just an idea. My characters have tended to hold up games by their nature. :)

How long should I wait to allow others to maybe return?
Should I start over from the beginning? I don't believe anything that was posted really needs to be changed but a fresh start may help.

I know the re-boot here never got going and with out telling more than I can, I just wanted to let ya's know that Maverick is dealing with some RL issues of his own that are long over due and it will be awhile before he is back let alone able to GM a game.
With all that out of the way, I was wondering if any one knows of a game needing a player. A good Pathfinder style game or Western would be great but I'm open to others.

The talent, kindness, and encouragement of this remarkable team of players has long been a strength of this game.There must be a reason why we keep coming back to check in with one another. I think it is because for better and worse we are a family.
Writing along with this team has been a joy and continues as a warm memory. If this game enjoys a comeback I hope to be among you.
Wishing my writing friends happy days. Hoping Mav is his old self soon.

Let's cut to the chase.... ;) I'm looking for a game to join with regular posting. A Pathfinder low level (no higher than 4th, but gestalt rules would be Kewl) game. Posting at least every other day with a good group.
I'm open to other games too, if ya know of something give me a yell. :D

I don't know of any Pathfinder games but there are a couple of games I'm enjoying right now that are active (compared to the dead D&D types). Roommates Wanted and Welcome to Stillwater I believe are still looking for characters so you might take a peek there.

I don't know why I'm writing this, maybe it's just for me but I know more than a few of you have known Maverick for awhile and not only played in one of his games but shared time with him in other games. For those of you who did not know or it slipped your mind, Maverick and I Brothers. It is with a heavy and hardened heart that I wanted to let you's know that Steve (Mav) has Rode His Last Trail. He passed away on the 8/17 of gastric cancer. We just found out in May a couple weeks b4 his 54th Birthday. It hit him hard but he Didn't Go Down Without A Fight.

I lost my dad in December 2015 to pancreatic cancer, diagnosed just three and a half months earlier. It was fast and hard too so I sympathize completely. Take care of yourself and I send loads of hugs.
