Re: Hospice of the Blessed Maiden

The water in the main fountain is murky Izzick. But ypu can see the dead priestess, her blood pouring out and clouding the water further.

As you start to reach down, you get a chill in your spine. Just a premonition of sorts. You glance upwards.

The creepy statue is looking down at you. Was it's face looking downwards before? You can't recall. But what grabs your attention is the smile on it's face. The smile is a large one. Not a malicious smirk, but an actual honest...almost loving...smile. Considering the statue depicts the goddess of filth and disease, and that it is of a naked woma who is a skipeleton from the waist down, it is easy to say the smile seems out of place.

You follow the eyes of the statue. It is not looking at you, but at her. The woman in the water. You look down.

The priestess has opened her eyes. But there are no orbs inside the sockets. Instead there is a glow. Diffused by the water, but still visible none the less. The skin around her eyes is flaking off like old paint on the wall of an old cottage by the sea. The skin flakes and disintergrates, revealing not muscle and sinew, but a second skin that glows as well. The priestess is raising her hand. As she does so the nails fall of and the palm splits open, revealing more glowing surface underneath.

It seems you are witnessing the birth of a fallen angel.

The rest of you aren't finding anything.

Izzick, she is still under the water at this point and still transforming.

Re: Hospice of the Blessed Maiden

Suddenly, the priestess rises from the water, visible to all.

She is looking a lot different. Her skin and clothes are falling away, turning into ash in the air. Beneath she is aglow. Literally. Large butterfly like wings are unfolding from her back.

She looks like an angel. Sort of. There's something off about the whole effect though. The light she gives off is slightly painful to look at. Her fingers come to in end in sharp points now. And she still has that same look on her face as when you first came into the room. A look of cool arrogance mixed with pure contempt.

And the air in the room goes stale.

Vaddis, the evil level all around just took a sharp spike upwards.

She makes a motion. The air seems to constrict around Selvin/Zac...

Selvin, Hold Person on you. DC 15 Fort save please.

"Well," said Tarrov, grimacing.  "That's not good.  Is it?"  The performer looked around.  "I can't think of a situation in which that would be good."  He placed a hand on Vaddis' back and uttered an arcane word, all the while keeping his eyes on the unwanted apotheosis of their not-quite-defeated foe.  As Tarrov touched him, Vaddis felt a surge of valor, a spirit of courage that buoyed him to even greater feats of martial prowess.

OOC:

Doesn't Hold Person save against Will?  I don't think it's a Fort save.

Immediate Action (if necessary):  Cast Saving Finale on Selvin.

Standard Action:  Cast Heroism on Vaddis.

Free Action:  Maintain Inspire Courage

Selvin and Vaddis are now both under the effects of Heroism.

Re: Hospice of the Blessed Maiden

Selvin turned back around from where he'd been searching when he heard water noises. "What?" His slight frown slid into a very surprised face as he saw the evil priestess up for round two! And boy she had gotten even more ugly! "No not good at all!" His lips curled back in disgust, even as he shook off whatever she was trying to do to him. And he charged her again, eyes narrowed to slits against the painful light!

OOC: Charging the priestess (not sure if we roll or if initiative is needed first. Hit AC 25 and 26 for 15 damage each.

16:13, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 32 using 1d20+13. Will save vs Hold Person (-2 if it really is a Fort save instead).

19:52, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 18,25,14,26 using d20+12,d20+12,d20+12,d20+12. Charging power attack (still with heroism and inspire courage).
19:53, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 13,2,10,5 using d6+9,d6,d6+9,d6. Damage for the 2 hits (d6s with no bonus are electrical).

Izzick could only watch in horror and confusion as the priestess transformed, and without knowing what to do, saw the end product. A horrible monster, but he should have known she wouldn't fall so easily. He took a step back and began to cant a spell - it was weaker than what he'd been using, but he'd found himself exhausted of that level of magics.

Ray of Enfeeblement
19:35, Today: Izzick rolled 22 using 1d20+7.
19:36, Today: Izzick rolled 9 using 1d6+3.

Re: Hospice of the Blessed Maiden

Like a well oiled machine, you all move in fluid concert. Selvin and Vaddis strike in perfect point-counterpoint while Izzick's ray neatly strikes her from behind. Tarrov finishes his recitation and steps back to ready himself.

Gloworm gives some ground under the various assaults. Her off kilter glowing face makes a grimace of distaste. She reaches out and slaps at the two tanks, striking one than the other. Her blows carry an impact, though perhaps not as powerful as one would perhaps expect.

Selvin, 7 pts dam. Vaddis, 9 pts dam. Ya'lls go.

Selvin let out a grunt as the glowing former-priestess slapped him. He felt the impact more than he thought he'd would, but it wasn't super-powerful. He frowned and attempted to flank her with Vaddis so they could both more easily hit the creature, and then lashed out again.

OOC: Hit AC 30 for 15 damage, AC 29 for 13 damage, and AC 24 for 12 damage.

Teamwork is a truly beautiful thing.

She stumbles, striking her back against the base of the statue. With a smirk on her face, she lifts her arms and lunges forward. One hand catches Vaddis in the sternum. The ends of her odd looking fingers seem to slip through his armor like butter. The other hand smashes into Izzick, knocking his just under the collarbone.

Tarrov uttered the command word for his wand again, hoping that his comrades could stand up to the resurrected woman's attacks.  As two bluish, magical bolts flew to hit the woman, the bard also hoped that she wouldn't be able to stand up to this kind of punishment for much longer.

Free Action:  Maintain Inspire Courage on Group.  Heroism is up on Vaddis and Selvin.

Standard Action:  Use Wand of Magic Missiles.

Selvin looked a bit stricken as he saw both Vaddis and Izzick get hit by the creature. He tried to maneuver a bit to be more of a primary target again so she wouldn't hit Izzick anymore. He also swung at her but didn't seem to connect nearly as much.

...and with that the glowworm falls back into the main fountain. There is a blinding flash of light and she is gone. Poof. As if she was never there.

The moment of anticlimax is short lived though. The fountains surronding the room begin to bubble lie cauldrons reaching their boling point. The various foul liquids in them like bile and spoiled milk begin to foam up...

You have a round before whatever is about to hapoen next happens. Make good use of it.

Izzick rushes behind you.

As you all hit the stairs leading upwards you hear splashing sounds. A look back shows seven women are stepping out of the fountains, each a perfect copy of the priestess. And each one made of the fluid in the fountain she is emerging from.

The one made of blood points at your retreating backs. And they all begin to chase after you...
