Re: The Jail

Lucky crept forward at a slow pace to make sure he didn't make any noises nor accidentally bump into one of the guards.  When he got to the door he waited momentarily for the distraction to happen.

17:22, Today: Lucky Six-Fingers rolled 42,43,29,37 using d20+24,d20+24,d20+24,d20+26.  stealth x3 then disable device.

Re: The Jail

In reply to Lucky Six-Fingers (msg # 73):

The non-Selvin glowy-floaty elves strike!  They wink in, peppering the surprised guards with celestial arrows of justice-love or whatever the hell it is they shoot.

The guards are pretty well trained though.  At least the ones on the platform.  They take the first volley of arrows and begin to gather into a formation, shields coming off backs.

The two guards in front of the door glance at each other.  One of them moves down the platform to help her comrades.  The other one takes a stance in front of the door.  Sorry Lucky.  At the moment you can't open the door because a stout warrior is standing in front of it.

You can pick the lock though since you're invisible.  It opens rather easily under your skilled fingers.

Selvin if you want to launch a round of attacks on the platform guards, please do so.  They are focused on your little helpers at the moment.

Lucky, there's one guard standing right in front of the door.  You can get the door open, but not open it wide enough to slip inside.  She's in the way.

Re: The Jail

Selvin left his summoned allies to their own devices, knowing they would fight without his instruction. He also didn't close his eyes, but did narrow them, as he flew kind of straight through the combat taking place to go straight at the woman warrior guarding the door Lucky need to get through. He had a wide smile on his face, as did the feline symbiote with its fanged maw.

But instead of a normal attack he attempted to shove the warrior woman out of Lucky's way.

OOC: Wow. I rolled a 3. 22 vs her CMD. Unless I can charge for a +2 lol.

08:40, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 22 using 1d20+19.  Bull Rush to get her out of the way.

As you hurtle through the combat zone Selvin...

Ow.  That stings.  16 pts total damage

You smack into the guard, partly because she sees you coming and charges back at you.

The two of you clash...

I think we actually tied.

Give me a strength check.  You won the init, so you hit her first.  But I need to determine who smacked who harder.

But Lucky...you have clear ingress towards yonder door...

Zac didn't like it, but he pushed past the pain as the blows rained down on him while they hurtled towards the guard. He flexed his tauric muscles with a low roar.

19:28, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 21 using 1d20+9.  Strength check.

With a quick motion Lucky opened the door wide enough to enter and closed it behind him.  Once inside he gave a slight whisper, loud enough for anyone inside to hear.  "I am here to break you out of prison.  You have friends that want you free. "

Selvin, you manage to nudge the guard sideways.  Though she seems to have braced for the impact better than you would have thought.  She tries pushing you back...

and manages to slip slightly on a banana peel someone left on the platform...

Seriously.  She rolled a 3.

Lucky, before you can get the words out of your mouth...

There two stools in the room.  On one of them is perched a woman with a pillowcase over her head.  The pillowcase used to be white.  But it's now mostly blood red.  You can imagine why.

On the other stool sits a dwarven woman in a plain, wool robe.  She is writing something in a little book.

She looks up when the door opens, and frowns.

"Hello?" the Dwarf woman says out loud.

Re: The Jail

Selvin and Zac both grinned a bit as the woman failed to resist the push - that, and he saw the door open where she had been, meaning Lucky was moving inside. And that had been what this had been for.

But now he was face to face to face with the woman and he didn't have to move her or distract her. It was on. He unleashed a flurry of blows on her, but had some trouble.

OOC: Uhhhhh...those first two are Nat 1s...in case something bad happens to me.
(and assuming I get the rest of the attacks after the 2 Nat 1s):
Hit AC 23 for 20 slashing and 2 electric.
Hit AC 31 for 24 bludgeoning and 1 electric.
Hit AC 29 for 21 bludgeoning and 4 electric.

23:19, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 16,16,23,31,29 using d20+15,d20+15,d20+15,d20+15,d20+15.  Full attack on guards (power attack and arcane strike).
23:20, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 20,3,24,1,21,4 using d8+18,d6,2d6+18,d6,2d6+18,d6.  The 3 non-Nat-1 attack damages (2nd die is electric).

Lucky was about to say something but held it in when he saw that there was someone else inside the room with the prisoner.  When the dwarf woman called out, "hello", Lucky used the noise to hide his steps to her side.  As he moved he slid one Kukri out of its sheath and was going to stab her in the next.

11:37, Today: Lucky Six-Fingers rolled 25,34,11,32 using d20+24,1d20+19,d4+9,6d8.  Stealth then sneak attack if possible.

Re: The Jail

In reply to Selvin Larst (msg # 80):

The results of the fumbles are both boring and annoying.  I'm going to void out your two bludgeoning attacks instead.

Selvin, she seems a fairly capable opponent.  You land two nice blows, but she rolls with them, mitigating the hit.  Can't do that with your tail/electric thing though.  That sticks her right where it counts.

You can hear her teeth chatter as you shock her.  She manages to get a hit on Zac 12 pts damage, but she seems too befuddled to land another hit.

Lucky, the dwarf is completely taken, both by surprise as you suddenly appear and by your kukri as you stab into her.  She falls off the chair, gushing blood, though she still seems up.

Both opponents are still up ya'll.  Should each just need one more round.  So roll your attacks please.  Thanks

Selvin frowned at the guard and was surprised when not only did he miss several times, but she hit him back. He blinked a few times, then his eyes narrowed. "Hell no." He grit his teeth and had his symbiote unleash another full torrent of attacks: bite, two claws and two slams, all cracking with electricity!

OOC: Hit AC 21 for 27 piercing and 2 electric.
Hit AC 25 for 20 slashing and 6 electric.
Hit AC 30 for 24 slashing and 4 electric.
Hit AC 18 for 23 bludgeoning and 2 electric.
Hit AC 30 for 29 bludgeoning and 2 electric.

With the dwarf eliminated Lucky takes off the hood from the prisoner.  First Lucky looked to make sure it is the right person and then says, "I am here to break you out of here.  When I open the door you need to follow directly behind me, understand?

If the hands are tied, Lucky will cut or unlock the bonds.  Before he does any of that he checks quickly for possessions on the dwarf and casts detect magic to see if there is any in the room as well.

Re: The Jail

Having freed up the door and removed the biggest, or at least nearest, obstacle for Lucky that he was aware of, Selvin turned his attention to the other guards on the platform. He charged the nearest one, intending to help out his summoned allies while also clearing away, hopefully, any potential pursuers when they left. So he pounced on to the guard and unleashed a quick succession of attacks, some better aimed than others.

OOC: Charge pounce! No Nat 1s at least (tho there was a 2 and a 3 in there lol)
Hit AC 20 for 21 dmg and 1 electric.
Hit AC 24 for 26 dmg and 2 electric.
Hit AC 24 for 21 dmg and 5 electric.
Hit AC 32 for 24 dmg and 2 electric.
Hit AC 19 for 21 dmg and 3 electric.

09:12, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 20,24,24,32,19 using d20+17,d20+17,d20+17,d20+17,d20+17.  Charging Pounce on guard (power attack & arcane strike).

Re: The Jail

In reply to Lucky Six-Fingers (msg # 86):

The dwarf must have been some kind of priestess Lucky.  There's a holy symbol that looks somewhat demonic.  There's a small satchel by the side of the chair with three flasks in it.  You recognize two as poisons of various kinds.  The third seems to be a healing potion of some variety.

The woman gasps when you lift her hood and nods, seeming to grasp the situation quickly.  Her legs are numb...she's been tied up for quite a while. But she manages to stumble along behind you.

The guards are surprised by your sudden onslaught Selvin.  You take out one of them quickly and manage to lay into another one.

But they also seem well trained.  They recover quickly and counter, slashing into Zac19 pts damage

The celestials manage to mop up the ones you aren't on top of just a moment too late to keep you from getting hurt.  Then it's just the guard who's wobbly from your attack left on the platform.

The guards on the floor apparently weren't part of the A team.  The celestials attacking them have managed to kill about half of them.

And then you hear the main warehouse doors start to slide open...

Looks like someone outside finally heard the ruckus inside.  Best get while the gettin's good

Your new found friend is weak, but she is hanging in there Lucky.  She should be able to fly.

Getting to the rooftop, you can see that the warehouse is being surrounded by guards.  Over head, in the distance, you can see the unmistakeable outline of a dragon flying closer.

You can take to the air or jump into the river.  There is of course the 'fight your way through the thick of them option' as well.

Selvin started to head back up the way they'd come but stopped suddenly, eyes going wide, mouth dropping open. "Uhhhhh....THAT....is a problem." Flying looked to be a bad option with a dragon in the air.

He shook his head. "River it is!" He scooped the former prisoner p in his arms, trusting Lucky to take care of himself, and jumped for the river. Well...flew towards the river, attempting to shield his passenger as much as possible.

In reply to Lucky Six-Fingers (msg # 93):

The two of you dunk in as the air behind you suddenly fills with crossbow bolts.

The river tastes as bad as it smells.  Though you have to admit Selvin...less people in Korvosa means less sewage.  So it's actually better than you remember it.

You lack that basis of comparisson Lucky>  This river, like every river near a city you've had to jump into in order to avoid guards...there's more of them then one might think...tastes and smells like shit.

But better to be alive and needing a bath rather then being dead and not caring about it.

The two of you rise to gulp some air just as the dragon arrives over head.  You can see it open it's mouth and fire glowing inside.  You duck back underwater as the dragon strafes the river.

Letting the current take you seems the safest bet.  You both manage to come up on the far river back about a half mile downstream, taking cover in the wreckage of a mill.

Your new found friend is coughing up water.  "Did...did...Tar...rov send you?"  she manages at last.

Re: The Jail

Selvin had no need to come up for air - though 'breathing' the gross water of the river wasn't that fun with Zac's gills. However, the prisoner they'd just help escape DID need air, so he made sure she didn't drown as he and his symbiot swam. They were not as graceful in the water as they once had been, since Selvin had revamped his friend - but at least he'd left the gills!

It was a little nerve-wracking to have a dragon trying to breathe fire on them, he admitted to himself and telepathically to Zac, who agreed wholeheartedly.

Once they were a bit farther away, and possibly a bit safer, he put her up above the water line and his head as well. He smiled at her question and shook his head. "Nope! Tarrov's a friend o'mine, though. He started the rebellion while me an' a few others went t'find out more about what happened t'make the Queen go all insane. Now...we need t'meet back up with him, only he's gone underground. So we figured we'd rescue you an' see if you'd let him know that we were back so we could meet."

He paused and then belatedly said, "Oh. Right. I'm Selvin Larst. That's Lucky Six-Fingers, though Tarrov hadn't met him before. But he'll know my name, as well as Izzick an' Zuni."

Re: The Jail

Lucky lived up to his name as he sprang into the water just in time to dodge a barrage of arrows.  Then again when the dragon swept the river with its breath.  Lucky could feel the water heat up above his head but thankfully it wasn't enough to burn him.  A few times he emerged up for a gulp of air and a quick glance to see where Selvin was headed.

Once across the far bank of the river and downstream by a good amount, Lucky saw that the dragon had lost them and there seemed to be no pursuit by the guards either, Lucky and the others left the river and made for the mill.  A quick use of his cloak had him clean and dry in a moment.

"Now that was FUN!!"  Lucky said once the two were done speaking.  "So, think you can get in contact with Tarrov without getting caught?"
