Re: The Jail

Selvin thought quickly as they didn't have a lot of time. He looked at Lucky, "Come with me." He flew over and quickly hefted the first body and then the second as well under the tigertaur's upper arms. "Okay, Lucky - don't think I'm your mount or anythin', but hop on the back."

Once Lucky was on and hanging on, Selvin flew silently over the side of the building where there was no one guarding and no door to guard, to just below the roofline, so as to not be immediately seen when the newcomers head on to the roof. "Okay. Let's be quiet but ready. We go up once they're on the roof."

Re: The Jail

Not sure about the plan, Lucky did as Selvin asked.  It may have been too hard to hide up top for him since it wasn't completely dark and he didn't have anything to hide behind besides perhaps the lid to the trap door and that would last all of two seconds.  So, he jumped on Selvin's back with a grin.

"I will be ready once you go back up!"  Lucky put one of his Kukri away and grabbed his starknife.  He would lead with that and then his Kukri when it was time.

In reply to Selvin Larst (msg # 53):

It turns out to be pretty hard to hide giant glowy cat-taur thing.

The two soldiers come up and one of them seems to spot Zac's wing.

They seem stunned for a moment, uncertain about what exactly they are seeing though...

You guys got the init free and clear.  They haven't made a sound yet.  They're just too surprised apparently.  That's how I'm explaining the natural init roll of a 1 at any rate.

Feel free to post actions.  Thanks

Re: The Jail

OOC: No wings anymore, but that's not really the point, LOL!

Selvin bit back a curse as he...or more accurately Zac...was spotted. He flew up over the lip of the rooftop, dropping the bodies as he moved towards the two guards. He trusted Lucky would 'dismount' on his own and didn't bother moving him off.

He quickly closed the distance, slamming one tauric fist in to one of the guards to try and put them down as quickly as possible since they didn't have surprise necessarily on their side this time, wasn't able to move in a way to pounce on them as usual - and didn't really want to raise the alarm.

OOC: I'm guessing he can't charge due to the way he's having to move up and then across the roof, which means only one attack. Hit AC 28 for 31 damage total.

23:32, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 28,29 using d20+15,2d6+18.  Single attack on guard (power attack and arcane strike).
23:33, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 2 using 1d6.  Electricity damage.

Re: The Jail

As Lucky appeared over the lip of the roof once more, he tossed his starknife right at one of the guards.  He hoped the impact would be enough to knock the man back away from the trap door.  In a second the knife returned and he tossed it again at the other even as Selvin hit the man in the face with a fist.

The soldier Selvin hit first goes down.  The other one is bloodied, but she remains standing.

She starts to call out, but there's a lot of racket coming from the street below.  The warehouse troops are chasing after the distractors.  Your nickname really fits Lucky

One guard still standing.  She tried to call for help but they didn't notice.

Go on and finish her up. Thanks

Re: The Jail

Lucky didn't even bother dismounting yet and as the man fell and the woman called out, Lucky cringed.  Thankfully the racket from the distraction out front had gotten super loud now and her cry for help hadn't been heard.  Lucky put the starknife right between her eyes then dropping her backward to the rooftop.  "Time to look back down inside again, and quickly!"

More crappy map time!  Yah!

And just to be clear:  the three doors do not all lead into the same room.  You just can't see inside them so I did not detail them.  You believe those are three separate rooms.  Thanks.

The inside of the warehouse is still a buzz.  Four guards are up on the platform, two guarding the stairs down to the floor and two standing beside the door at the end of the platform.

You guess there are about twelve more guards on the floor below.  But it's tough to be sure from here.

Re: The Jail

Selvin's lip curled for only a moment at the dead guards, then he was all business once more. He carefully poked his head back down again to see what he could see, leaving enough room for Lucky or switching out so the other man could look as well. Two sets of eyes were better than one, and they had three pair between them!

"I count four higher up, an' quite a few down on the floor. Seems like a lot. We can try an' sneak but...not sure how far I'd get, an' I can only cast Invisibility a couple more times." Pause. "I could cast a summon spell..."

Re: The Jail

Lucky looked down below too once Selvin gave him some room.  There were quite a few guards.  Lucky looked to see how the lighting was as well for if there were shadows he could easily hide in them.  Softly, Lucky asked, "What would you summon and where?"

Re: The Jail

Selvin bit his lip from inside his symbiotic ally for a moment as he thought. "Well...my options are a bit limited while Zac is here, but I got a few spells I can use without dismissin' him."

He continued, "I assume more might be better in this case, so if I go a bit lower I can bring more..." He began listing off possibility. "Well. If I use my highest magic, I could summon several Bralani or.." He hesitated. "It would definitely not look great...but I have some demon and devil types I could summon possibly too, again with my highest magic only for those."

He spoke on, "With the other lower spell, I could summon perhaps a couple us-sized air elementals - fire ones might be bad in there. Or some dire bats. Or some lantern archons."

Re: The Jail

Lucky listened to the options and of them all he thought that the air elementals would be the best.  "Out of all that I would think the air elementals would be best.  Though a demon or two would be interesting.  I will leave it to you."

Re: The Jail

Selvin looked at Lucky, "Okay. But do we have a plan? I mean, are we just gonna attack all the guards an' then free the prisoners? Are you going t'be trying t'sneak in an' free the prisoners while me an' whatever I summon go after the guards?"

Re: The Jail

Lucky had been forming a plan and when asked he gave a devilish smile, "While killing the guards would make it super easy, I don't think it possible.  My plan is to sneak in while the distraction is happening and freeing the prisoners.  Your invisibility spell would go a long way in making it even easier."

Re: The Jail

Selvin raised an eyebrow at Lucky, "Remember, invisibility only lasts minutes, like a dozen? An' it breaks if you attack anyone." He spread his hands. "The summons will last about a minute, give or take, though I'll be fightin' as well an' keep 'em distracted."

He took a deep breath. "Right. So I cast on you. Give you a bit of a head start t'sneak in, then summon an' go in myself an' start a fight. That's the plan?"

OOC: Assuming yes, he will cast invisibility on Lucky and start counting to give Lucky a minute's headstart - unless Lucky wants longer.

Re: The Jail

In reply to Lucky Six-Fingers (msg # 66):

Just to be clear:  while it would be great to free all the prisoners, most are locked in cells on the lower floor.  The prisoner you want is probably in that locked room at the end of the platform.

So you only have the four guards up on the platform to contend with.  For a couple of rounds anyway.  It would probably take that long for all the floor guards to get up here.

Ah, okay. That's good to know.

Then does it look like if he's invisible and stealthy, Lucky could get to the cell without too much trouble, but might need the guards taken out or distracted to actually free the prisoner and get out?

Yes.  If you can get those two guards in front of the door at the end of the platform away, Lucky should be able to slip in no problems.

What happens once he opens the door...well that you don't know anything about.

It sounds like a plan to me.  Get the guards away and I will get the prisoner out.  I think only 3 rounds would be enough time to get into place.

Re: The Jail

Selvin cast Invisibility on Lucky and then began silently counting. He then prepared himself mentally and cast a summoning spell to bring forth some celestial aid. He grinned as five creatures answered his call!

They floated in the air, poised elf-like archers with silver-white hair the color of a lightning strike whipping about them, their eyes swirling with vibrant colors, scimitars in hand, longbows on their backs.

Selvin gave them a nod of respect and thanked them for coming, then outlined what he wanted - three of them to go after the guards on the platform, the other two to attack the guards on the floor. Once the guards on the platform were down, the three were to aid in taking out any other guards or hostile forces.

Selvin then followed them down the hatch and inside to help go after the platform guards.

07:39, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 5 using 1d4+1.  Summon Monster 7 (Number of Bralani).
