The Beginning of the End

The door opens easily enough.  Just a crack.  Just enough to peek through.

On the other side is a vast chamber, obviously too large to be on the opposite side of the wall you cut the door into.

There aren't any light sources inside.  But from the little light streaming through on your side, you can see what looks like a table with bowls full of gems right ahead.  There seem to be barrels...barrels...beside the table filled with coins that shine like silver and gold.

The room seems to stretch on past that.  But you can't make it much else without going inside and shining a light on things.

Zuni's eyes went wide when she took in all of the wealth that she could barely see.  "Oh you cruel gods." she muttered.  "Someone tell me this is a trap because I do not have enough pockets for all of this."

"Oh my goodness, yeah it is a trap!"  Lucky said as he went into the vault and saw the barrel of coin.  "Now that we are here, what are we supposed to do exactly?  Head up to the Queen and what?  Kill her?  What is our endgame here?"

Selvin, Izzick, and Chandanar follow you both through the door.  It shuts behind them and disappears into the air.

"Well...whatever we decide to do, finding a way outta here should be our second concern."

Chandanar glances around the room.  "We got that sword that's supposed to be able to kill the Queen.  And she's...I dunno...some kinda prophet for a dragon god who wants to take over the world.  So I'm guessing  we want to stop her.

"And if that halfling wasn't lying, we need to do it tonight.  Before she summons this big, bad thing."

"Well, then, what are we waiting for.  Let's go find our queen and put that sword to her so we don't have to deal with this Army of hers or the dragon."  Lucky said as he drew out his blades and began to look for a way out.

The Beginning of the End

Zuni had not taken her eyes off of the barrels of wealth.  It was more than she could remember ever seeing and it was just incredible. "Wait...let me just...give it a hug..."  she muttered, her fingers twitching with the urge to scoop up as much as she could and stuff it into any and all pockets that she had.

"If there is anything magical in here that might aid us it probably wouldn't hurt to take a look."  Lucky said while grinning at Zuni.

In reply to Lucky Six-Fingers (msg # 7):

Chandanar and Izzick begin doing their thing.

They both frown.

"There's actually nothing." Chandanar waves a hand around the room.

"It's like somoene's stripped anything useful outta here.  Well.  Other than the gold and jewels and stuff.

There is one obvious exit to the room.  A large vault style door on the northern wall.

"...yeah...nothing useful here..."  Zuni said, practically licking her lips.  A few (dozen) gems couldn't hurt. For the future of course.  Zuni took several moments, as she slowly walked towards the door, to stuff several handfuls into some pouches on her belt.

The Beginning of the End

Hearing that there was not a single piece of magic inside the vault put a frown on Lucky's face.  It was short-lived though as he caught Zuni out of the corner of his eye as she began to pocket some of the larger gems.

Why the hell not he told himself and at that moment he earned another name... Lucky Stickyfingers... he too stuffed some decent-looking gems, diamonds, and other expensive-looking trinkets into his pack while heading to the large vault door.  "Might as well!"
