Lucky was rather enjoying the wind in his hair when an arrow suddenly pierced his upper left arm.  With a grunt and a rather painful tug on the arrow, Lucky pulled it out and discarded the arrow.  That was when he noticed the fireball coming at him.  Lucky once again true to his name ducked behind the big upper torso of Zac and managed to not get touched by the flames of the fireball.

"We better get up there and quickly!  We can't be taking hits like this the whole time."  Lucky said loudly through the blowing wind.

Passed my save and with Evasion took no damage.
15:49, Today: Lucky Six-Fingers rolled 25 using 1d20+17.  reflex save.

Zuni, let me know about the fireball when you can

Zac pushes closer to the tower.  A second round of arrows flies at you as you come close.  The narrowing distance works to their favor...

Zuni, two arrows for a total of 15 pts damage

Zac took 4 arrows but somehow only managed to take 18 pts damage

Selvin got 1 arrow directly for 7 pts damage

And Lucky...they don't like you.  3 arrows for a total of 17 pts damage.


But you are close enough now to leap on to the tower.

Selvin, I am assuming the air elementals are charging in first.  I marked the position of the door into the tower on the map.

Are the elementals just wading in?  Or do you guys want to approach in a specific way here?

Zuni managed to duck behind Zac enough to only catch part of the fireball but it was enough to hurt.  She swore loudly.

And she swore again When the two arrows hit her.  "Gorums Teeth!  We are going to get stuck like flying pigs up here!"  She winced, pulling out one of the arrows.  "Where's that Gods Blasted Dragon!  I have nothing to take out so many."

Selvin let out a grunt when he was hit, but Zac barely made a noise, and some of his wounds even started to heal over as they flew. Zac didn't bother dumping Zuni or Lucky - they could get off on their own when ready. He just flew straight in to the front of the assembled baddies that were clumped up in a flurry of attacks.

OOC: Sorry, that was my bad. The elementals are much faster and the plan was to have them fly in and whirlwind around, touching the 'floor/ground' so it kicks up "a swirling cloud of debris" as per the Whirlwind ability to make it harder for them to attack us as we fly in. But, since we're past that already, yes, they will move in and attack, targeting the spellcasters as possible.

Do we need initiative rolls or just attack rolls?

Let's do it this way Selvin:

Make me a total of four attack rolls for the elementals.  Don't worry about calculating the damage.  Just make two to hit rolls for each.

I'll take it from there.  And that way you guys will know how many are left for you to pummel

The elementals descend like distant relatives on a lottery winner.  They bowl into the guard formation, sweeping the left flank aside and pushing back on the right.



There are only five guards and one of the spell tossers getting in your way.

The spell tosser yells something and points at the door, the guards hurrying to follow her orders to block it.  As they do, a gout of flame licks in front of them.

Izzick grins waving a hand.  "You guys go on.  I'll catch up."

He turns and points a wand at the spell tosser.

Lots of fire and much hilarity are bound to ensue.

Helping out Izzy?  Or rushing inside the tower?

Selvin barely missed a beat. He took only a small amount of time to give Izzick an extremely serious face as he said, "STAY. ALIVE."

Then he flew in towards the door heading inside, overrunning someone in the way if that's what it took, but he was kind of done with taking it easy or being slowed down.

Lucky easily jumps down and with a practiced roll he was back on his feat running for the spellcaster.  Lucky didn't want to let him have a chance to cast anything else.

I will take any AoO needed to get to the spell tosser.  "I got this one!"

Charge and hit the ST for AC31 for 41 damage.

05:54, Today: Lucky Six-Fingers rolled 31,13,28 using d20+17,d4+9,7d8.  charge and attack.

Zuni cursed loudly from her place on Zacs back. They didn't have time for this, didn't have time to deal with these henchfolk when there were more important things, and people, to take care of.  It's like every little fight was taking more and more of their allies out of the picture and now Izzick had jumped down to deal with these nobodies with Lucky following him.

Her every instinct told her to leap from Zac and bring the stabbiness to those jokers standing between her companions and the door.  Except that every fight between them and the queen could mean that someone else gets killed or they get so badly hurt that they cannot defeat the queen.

She cursed again.  "Why is killing a Queen never easy!" she muttered as she held on to Zac as he barrelled towards the door.  They had to secure the door, which meant killing anyone in their way.

OOC:
Holding action to attack whomever stops them from getting to the door.

Lucky, you leap past various minions, taking a few stabs 22 HP damage, but you get to the Spell Tosser.

Lucky, were those to hit rolls?  Spell tosser's AC 22, so two hits.  Gimme damage please

Zac punches the door aside.

Beyond the door, a spiral stairwell circles down into the tower.  The light, a sickly reddish glow, is coming from up the stairwell's shaft.

Looking down, you can see the tower is essentially a hollowish tube with the stairwell circling the walls.

Near the bottom, you can see what looks like a bonfire, the source of the glow.  There's no smoke, but the scent of charred kidneys and roasting pancreases wafts up the shaft.

Figures are surrounding the bonfire thing.  Too far away to make out details. But there are at least twenty or so figures down there.

I hit AC31 for 41 damage.  Just 1 attack cause of the charge.

Zac felt that Lucky had jumped off, but not Zuni. Selvin didn't look at her, but it was...comforting to have her with him still. Especially in case he got in over his head. "You ready for this?" he asked mostly rhetorically.

Then they were inside and he turned Zac and started heading down the spiral stairs, flying tightly towards the outer wall of the stairway to have some maneuverability. He noticed the bonfire and figures, murmuring "here we go." He doubted the queen was among them but who knew for sure.

And he streaked forward towards them. "get ready."

"Why aren't these guys outside joining in the fighting?" Zuni complained.  She wasn't whining, she never whined, but it was more of a frustrated point.  They were looking at another outnumbering fight.  Everything that they had gone through before this and they might get taken down by the numbers of henchmen.  "We should just turn invisible and sneak past."

Selvin stopped quickly while still in the stairwell when she said that. He glanced at her and quietly asked, "Can you turn invisible? I can, but casting on more than one person is trickier."

Sorry Lucky.  I completely overlooked that bit in the post.

You slice and dice Lucky.  The spell tosser makes a "Gah!" sound then staggers back, missing some fingers of his own now.

On the other side, you see arcs of lightning as Izzick fries guards.

One of the air elementals moves over to help your group while the next one starts to duck inside the tower, presumably to follow Selvin

The spell tosser fumbles out a wand.

Your go Lucky.  He's still up for the moment




Hmmm.  Zuni brings up a good point.  And I do like chaos...so...

As you ask your question Selvin, there's a rumble.  Suddenly the ground at the foot of the tower shakes and part of the wall starts to collapse.

One of the purple worms comes shooting up through the ground.

The tower walls start to shake...

When the spell-tosser pulled out the wand Lucky didn't know what it could do so he just madly stabbed the man before him, not once, not twice, but three times... in the neck and head.

AC34 and Crit check AC32 for 16 or 33

Nothing like consistency Lucky.

Whatever the wand does, you may never know.  The spell tosser goes down before he can even think about saying the command word.

Glancing around, you can see that Izzick seems to have most of the guards taken care of.  The elemental is wading into the rest.

Zuni seemed surprised by the question.  "I would need magic to actually turn invisible.  best I can do without it is stick to the shadows and be sneaky, real sneaky.  We could try it.  We don't have to fight everything here on the way.  We need to conserve some strength for the Queen."

Selvin started when the purple worm showed up, barely restraining an attack. "bloody hell."

He smiled at Zuni and shrugged. "Well how I would know any better. Yer magic t'me, an' certainly cast a spell on me." He let out a small chuckle.

Then he quickly sobered once more and cast a spell on her, and she faded from view. "Just...don't let go, alright? Unless I cast another spell, I can't see you."

Then he cast the same spell on himself. "Alright. We have a few minutes."

He started flying again, hunting for their prey and avoiding entanglements for the moment.

OOC: Cast Invisibility on each of us. Lasts 14 minutes each.

Zuni smiled sweetly at Selvin's words.  She was about to ask whether Selvin should be using his magic but she got distracted with watching the effects of his spell.  She grinned like an excited little girl as her hand turned transparent.

"Don't worry, I am NOT letting go." Zuni said, holding tightly to Zac.

Lucky reached down and grabbed up the wand and put it in his pack then moved to aid the elemental in fighting the guards.

No attack cause used two move actions.

Lucky, the elemental slams into the guards while Izzick uses those shocky orbs things he always uses.

One of the guards manages to land a blow on you, 12 hp damage, but the others are much too busy.

There are two "clear" at the moment.  Meaning no one is attacking them at the moment.

You have two possible targets Lucky.  AC 20 on each.  Your go




Meanwhile, back at the well...

You scan for your target...

Can I get some perception checks Selvin and Zuni please?

With so many different targets Lucky tried to just get in as many flanking attacks as possible.  Stabby stabby Lucky's knives went easily into the exposed flesh of the guards.
"You all may want to put down your weapons before I kill you all!"
