Up and West

The dragons except for Forestkiller have already surged ahead up the stairwell.  Thanks to that, you guys don't encounter any resistance as you come up from the dungeons into what is probably the main floor of the castle.  You do come across their bodies though.

You're standing in what must be a grand hall.  Countless halls and doors line one side of it.  Large picture windows line the other.

The windows offer you a view out onto the park that surrounds the castle to it's walls and a view of part of Karvosa.  It's quite the sight.

The city is at war.  Dragons are flying in the sky above.  Quicklime and her group must have just launched upwards because it seems skirmishes among the dragons is starting to occur.

Below, fires are burning.  You watch what appears to be tendrils rip up out of the ground and snag a low flying dragon, pulling it downwards.  You realize the tendrils are actually two purple worms that have reared up out of the ground.

Seems that halfling you made a deal with oh so long ago is doing his part.

There's fighting of the more mundane sort along the river as well.  What must be rebel troops under Tarrov are taking on small squads of the Queen's soldiers.

All in all, it's one bloody mess.

You can see to the west.  A spire on the western side of the castle is lit up in an odd, reddish light.  The light pours out of the top of it, swirling around the sides like a fog.

It seems the logical place to go.

So the rebellion is going down outside.  You could go help the rebels if you want.

Or you can head to the creepy glowing spire.  Several ways to get their.  Walking across the courtyard. Trying to find a way through the castle to it.  Getting up on the castle wall and walking along it to the spire.  Flying over there.

Let me know what questions you have and what you want to do now.

Thanks.

Up and West

"Looks like Tarrov is having fun." Zuni looked out one of the windows to see better what was going on.  The fighting was a welcome sight.  It should mean that there are less opponents to get in their way.  "Oh hey.  Purple worms."

Speaking of worms, or rather Wyrms, Zuni looked back to see what Forestkiller was doing.  "Best thing to do now is get to that spire and find the Queen."  Maybe Forestkiller could fly them over.

Up and West

Selvin looked around a bit, wide-eyed at the unbridled chaos and destruction going on. He slowly, gently, reluctantly, set down Chandanar's body. He covered it with his cloak. He let out a sigh.

But then he stood up. "Then hop on. I'll fly us over there. Just gotta watch out fer dragons an' whatnot in the air." He paused. "Actually...I could summon up a couple big air elementals t'escort us, an' if they're still around when we get where we're goin' they could help us."

He looked at Zuni and Lucky (and Izzick?) to see what they thought.

The chaos going on outside put a smile on Lucky's face.  "They certainly are," he said in response to Zuni's comment.  "Agreed we need to get there now before anything else happens."

Then Selvin said he could summon air elementals to escort them and Lucky looked at him, "I can say I have never been escorted by an air elemental before.  Let's do it!"

Up and West

In reply to Lucky Six-Fingers (msg # 4):

The elementals whirl into life.  Or existence.  Whatever.

Forestkiller glances down the hall, then waves his hand.  A ball of fire leaps forth and blows out one of the windows.

"I too have some scores to settle.  But I will stay around overhead the castle for a bit.  So if I see anything that threatens you...if I feel like it, I'll help.

"My thanks for freeing me.  Now then..."

He strides towards the open hole in the window/wall, starting to turn into his true self.  He's outside when he gets to full size.  He's a big one, easily the size of one of the castle towers.

As you take to the air, you can see the tower you're targeting has guards.  More of those muscular women are standing on the parapets.  Most have bows and swords.  The usual.

You notice a couple of women who seem to be wearing slinky gowns among them.  Spelltossers maybe?

You can count maybe 10 guards and the two slinky gowns.  But you can't be sure that's all there are.

I'll get a map up later tonight.

You are too far to do anything at the moment, other than plan.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay.

There is a building that appears to be a barracks between you and said tower.

You are about 100 yards away from the tower.  It is five stories tall.  The hallway you are in is a second story hall.  Questions?

Re: Up and West

Selvin hesitated for a second at Forestkiller's comments, cool exit spell and then large body reveal. "wow."

He then helped the two  allies 'mount' up on Zac's tauric body, the feline-yet-horse-like lower half. Then they took to flight, no wings flapping anymore, just magical flight. The two huge elementals were barely visible, more by the wind whipping around their bodies.

Selvin cast a spell on Zac that made his symbiote's body heal faster.

Then he and Zac took to the air and flew towards the tower, but kept alert for any other nonsense in the air that might come their way. "Alright. You two ready? I'm'a send the elementals in first t'scatter 'em a bit but come up right on their tails an' let you two jump off an' start this dance."

Re: Up and West

Lucky was enjoying the feeling of the ride on Zac's back.  He didn't get to do much flying around unless a wizard cast fly on him as he didn't have his own method of flight.

"I am ready as I will ever be,"  Lucky said as he gripped on with both hands not wanting to fall off.

Re: Up and West

In reply to Lucky Six-Fingers (msg # 8):

The guards are focused higher in the air. But someone spots you sooner than you might have liked.  A volley of arrows flies towards you as the elementals surge ahead.

One of the spell tossers raises an arm and WHHHHOOOOOSSSSSHHHH, a ball of fire is headed your way.  It goes boom...

First a couple of arrows did, miracles of miracles, make it through.  Zac took 12 pts damage and Lucky, you actually took 10 pts damage.  It was a really, really good shot.

Now the fireball.  It's going off for 52 pts. damage.  DC 23- for half.  If you have anything that negates or mitigates, factor it in and let me know the final total.

Also, I am assuming you guys brought along Chandanar's pouch of healing potions.  He's been stocking them up for almost the whole campaign.

To make our lives a little easier, there are enough potions to heal each of you up to total twice.  You can split that into halfs if you like.  That is, Lucky may use half a Heal now.  So he only heals up half his hit points.  He can heal up the other half later.  Etc.

Keep in mind, these aren't big mugs o' healing potions. You guys would be opening and downing several bottles at a time.  So you cannot do it on the fly.

If you want to reach into the pouch and grab a potion at random and chug a lug it, you may.  I'll roll to see what kind of potion (Cure L., Cure Serious, etc.) it is.  And you can chug it.

As we move to the end, I will be taking off kid gloves.  It is possible some or all of you may die.  But let's hope not.

Questions before you guys land on the tower?

Re: Up and West

Selvin tried to guide Zac to roll out of the way of the fireball, and they twisted in mid-air - but it wasn't quite enough to save them completely. A little fire splashed against the symbiote, but it didn't seem to do as much damage as it should have. The symbiote made a sound that was more anger than pain as it continued forward.

OOC: Used the 'point' we got previously. Improved Evasion and Fire Resistance 15.
