The Queens claws knocked the wind out of Zuni, cutting off her string of curses.  She tried to say something else but her voice was inbetween gasps as she sword her sword.

Zuni gulped in air when the Dragon Queen leapt up from her back.  Feeling like she still had a sleeping, or a preferably dead, dragon on top of her, Zuni slowly rose to her feet.  Just in time to duck a stream of hot steam.

Spend only action getting to her feet.  Being slowed sucks.

As zesty Zuni regains her feet, Queenie takes the attacks from both Lucky and Selvin.  If they hurt her/it, she/it isn't showing it much.

Queenie suddenly swings around, lashing out with her tail 22 pts damage Selvin and a claw I actually hit Lucky!  18 pts damage!  Ha!  What? Is that like the 3rd time all campaign?

It looks like she's taking in a deep breath.  Probably another breath weapon coming.  It's like she's got a zillion of them.

As you watch Zuni, you suddenly feel a pleasant warmth travel along your legs, and then into your spine.  You recognize this feeling, though it's been a while.

Izzick finishes chanting and nods at you.  He sped you up.  It only cancels out what Queenie had done to you. But you're at least back at regular speed again.

I keep forgetting about Izzy.  You guys should make use of him you know.

Zuni.  He hasted you, which cancelled the slow.  You're back up to Zuni speed again.

Queenie is within striking range of all of you.

Selvin and Zac let out a combined grunt when the Queen hit them. It wasn't the worst hit they'd ever taken, but it wasn't a small one either exactly. They stood their ground, however, with teeth grit. Then they lashed back out with all their attacks, again taking more care for accuracy rather than raw power.

Lucky was bleeding profusely from multiple wounds.  One more strike and he would be dead.  So, Lucky moved out of range and then drank one of the potions he pulled from his pack.

Zuni turned quickly and smiled at Izzy.  She thanked her companion and then turned her attention to the work at hand.  She raced up to the Queen and slashed at her with the Dragon slaying sword.

The three of you launch into another set of furious blows against Queenie.  Her hide is thick enough to pass for a city's defensive wall.  But...

Zuni's blade draws a deep line.  A dark black-red blood oozes from the wound.

Queenie leaps back, about 50' down the hallway.  The Dragon Queen rears back her head, seeming to be preparing another launch of her bad breath...

Not far now!  Only 2,000 more HP to go!

Lucky looked back up after drinking his potion and found the queen gone.  A quick glance had his eyes on her again but at the far end of the hall.  He couldn't get to her to do anything at this time so he reached in and grabbed another potion and chugged it.  "Now, that feels a bit better!  I think we are wearing her down!"

62 HP now

Selvin let out an annoyed growl and rolled his eyes. This was getting very annoying. They launched in to the air and flew towards their enemy in a screaming line, trailing streaks of electricity behind them.

But they kept eyeing the mouth and what breath might next come out of it, only managing to strike her twice.

OOC: Wtf, seriously? Sigh. Damn dice roller's everburning hatred for me.

Zuni looked skyward and let out a frustrated groan.  The blasted Queen kept on jumping away!  How was Zuni supposed to kill her if she kept on teleporting away?!  Sure it made sense tactically to put some distance between herself and the little human with the nasty sword but it was just dragging this fight on.

"How many times can she keep doing that!?" Zuni moaned angrily.  Glaring daggers at the Queen, she pulled out a small vial that she had previously opened and drank it down, feeling the magical contents of the liquid soothing her aches, pains, and burns.

As Zuni and Lucky take a potion break, you charge forward Selvin/Zac. But Queenie swishes a wing which you have to sidestep/side fly, and that throws off your charge.  You land one blow, but she seems to be fine with that.

Instead, she swivels her long neck and lets lose a thick cloud of inky blackness.  It starts to fill up the hallway...

She's casting a massive Darkness spell ya'll.  Lucky and Zuni, you are in darkness at the moment.

Your guys go.  Zuni and Lucky you are about 75' away from where you last saw Queenie.  Selvin, you know where you and Queenie are.

Zuni cursed, finding some more choice words to utter in the darkness.  "Can't see a blasted thing!" she said, taking several steps with her arms outstretched.  If she could find the wall, maybe she could find a way out of darkness and back into the fight.

Lucky couldn't see in the dark but he could certainly hear the combat occurring in front of him.  Not wanting Selvin to stick it out alone, Lucky drank down another potion and then moved towards the sound.

Drink Potion and move 30ft.

90hp now

Selvin kept pace with the Queen. He was going to try not to let her get away. But he was having some trouble connecting with her often. Too often. He unleashed another flurry, barely noticing the darkness growing behind him. It wouldn't have bothered him anyway.

Zuni, you move in the direction of the wall. Zuni, not to nitpick, but I am assuming you are going for the southern wall since it is closer.  If that is not correct, let me know.  You feel it push back against your outstretched hand.

Selvin, you make some connections.  They seem to sting her but you get the feeling you aren't getting through.  At least she still seems to be bleeding from the wound where Zuni stabbed her.

Queenie turns on you and unleashes a couple of blows that...well.  They're pretty good ones.  18 and 25 HP Selvin.

Lucky, you can hear the combat.  It sounds like it's just up ahead...

Unless something happens with Selvin's post, Lucky you will be out of the dark next round.  Zuni, you can start following the wall towards the sound of fighting.

Go Team!  I would say we're at least half way through with this fight.  Maybe.

Ha!  Found the wall! Zuni grinned as her fingers felt the cool stone of the wall.  Now she could figure out how to get out of the darkness.  It shouldn't be too difficult, what with all the sounds of fighting going on.

First the symbiote lets out a grunt of pain. Then the half-elf inside lets out a sharp noise of pain as well. Both grimace at the same time, however. The fire in their eyes hadn't diminished, though they knew that they might have bitten off more than they could chew this time.

They hesitated for only a second between two decision.

Their mind made up, however, they unleashed another flurry of attacks once more instead of whatever other thing they were contemplating. They had to keep the Queen busy until their allies could rejoin the fight. "THIS WAY!" they bellowed to try and help guide their friends out of the darkness.

Now out of the darkness and into the the battle once again, Lucky takes a step into the range of the Quenn and unleashes a barrage of slashes at her hoping to draw blood if not outright kill her.

She lumbers back.  And seems to start disintergrating.

From the point Zuni's last blow sunk into her side, her skin seems to flake and turn into dust.  The effect spreads, soon radiating out from the wound and along her entire flank.  Queenie's head rolls like she were drunk and then flops down, slapping against the ground, narrowly missing </purple>Lucky</purple>.

Her dragon body is soon a big mass of dragon dust...

Whatcha doin' now?  Huh Tough Guys?  Whatcha. Doin'. Now?

Selvin's lip curled up a bit in disgust as he watched the sight before him happening. "Uh...gross..." He shook his head and took a step back. "I don't mean it t'sound like this was nothin' or anythin' but...was that it? I thought there'd be..." He and Zac both waved one arm around a little, "...I dunno...somethin' spectacular, big explosions, fanfare..."

He looked down at the mess, then up at Zuni. "Heh. Zac an' I're really messed up right now. Gonna need t'heal." And indeed they were both bloody, goopy, terrible-looking messes. "Is there more we gotta do?"

With that said, he cast a spell on his friend.

20:23, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 22 using 3d10+10.  Rejuvenate Eidolon.

"Of course there's more to do." Zuni said, staring at the mass of dragon dust.  She poked it with her sword and then gave it a kick with her boot.  "Zuni is taking over.  We need to anoint her as the new Queen of Korvosa.  I hear she'll rule with an even but firm hand."

She gave the pile of dragon dust another few kicks.  "...this can't be...it..." she muttered.  The fight had not been easy, Selvin and Zacs wounds were proof enough of that, but she was still not entirely sure that they had defeated the Queen.  Surely she had to have another trick up her sleeve.

Of course these thoughts might just be covering up for the fact that Zuni had no idea what they were supposed to do after killing the Queen.

Dodging back a few steps as the dragon began to fall towards him, Lucky watched on with amazement as the dragon became dust.  "Damn, now I can say I never witnessed anything like that before."  Lucky wasn't sure what it meant.

When Zuni basically proclaimed herself Queen, Lucky asked, "You are the new Queen?  I don't follow.. does you holding that blade make it so?  If so, Congratulations are in need."  Lucky gave her a quick bow to further emphasize his point.

Lucky was also trying to hear if there was fighting still outside the hall they were in.

The dust wafts away from the slight breeze created by your foot Zuni

From behind you can still hear sounds of battle Lucky.  But a quick peek through the door shows the fight has moved on.  Apparently the purple worm took care of those behind you.  The sounds of battle sound like they are coming from somewhere deeper in the palace.

Izzick scratches his head.  "Maybe she just wasn't that tough?  I mean...what are the odds something out of left field is going to suddenly occur that would put us all in a desperate fight for not only our lives, but the lives of every man, woman, and child on Glorathania?

And that's when a bright light shines out of the pile of dragon/queen ash, enveloping you all...

And let's move to the new thread, shall we?
