...The light clears, leaving the four of you blinking.

You are no longer in the hallway, hip deep in queen dust.

Instead you are in a hall lined with black and white marble tiles.  Pillars carved into the shape of serpents hold up the ceiling.  Large, plate glass windows line the walls, though outside seems to be nothing but darkness.

At the far end of the hall from you is a dias on which sits a throne.  The throne looks like it carved from pieces of black onyx and blood red rubies.  On it sits a thin, grayish colored lizard man.

The whole room is lit by the most interesting chandelier any of you may have ever seen.  The Queen's body has been strung from cables.  Candles have been waxed all over her body and they are lit, most of them however are upside down.  The wicks point at the ground, but the flames still burn as if they were right side up.  The amount of light emanating from the Queen/chandelier is immense.  Those are some pretty powerful candles.

The gray lizard man leans forward, scaly hands resting on his withered knee.

"You are all very annoying.  I just want you to know that."

He is 80' away.  There's only the five of you in the room.  Six if you count the dead Queen hanging from the ceiling, lighting up all your lives.  But why would we count her?

Anyway, someone should say or do something.

Selvin looked around the room slowly. His eyes stopped on the queen and widened slightly. That was a gruesome lightsource. He looked at the being on the throne when they spoke. He smiled and nodded. "Thanks! We put a lotta effort in to it."

He paused and cast a spell on his friend before asking. "An' you are?"

When Lucky finally realized he was back and could see again he wished he hadn't for the scene above him was a chaotic scene with the queen quite dead and candles burning upside down.  It was as if the world turn inside out.

With something else to focus in on, Lucky did just that as he looked at the lizard looking being at the end of the hall.  "Now what!"

To ease his pain though, Lucky grabbed another potion and drank it healing himself completely.

"Zon-Kuthon."  It seems to be a response to your question Selvin

He's like supposed to be some kind of god of dragons or something.  Also the one who was trying to use Queenie to take over the world.  That guy.

The skinny, gray lizard man gestures a claw, chuckling at your exclamation Lucky.  "Now...I have to deal with the persistent hitch in my plans.  That is..." He gestures at the four of you.  "You."

He glances up at the "chandelier".  "Obviously my previous arrangements were...insufficient.  Plans will need to be changed."

He studies you all for a moment longer, then brings his hands together, resting his chin on the fist.  "One opportunity for you here.  Join me.  You are more resourceful than my previous agents."

Can all three of you make me a Wisdom check please?  Just straight up Wisdom check.

No I didn't mispost that.  He's easy to hit.  The amount of damage he can take is a whole other story.

The force of the exploding air dropped Zuni to her knees.  She swore.  "...Don't I get a...a.say here?!" she complained through gritted teeth.  Hells but that hurt, she thought, even though she should have been agile enough to avoid it.

Zon-Kuthon was too far away for Zuni to attack with her longsword.  The god probably didn't count as a dragon so that meant she would have to switch back to her trusty Aldori duelling sword.  Zuni ran forward, closing the distance as she changed her weapons.  She wasn't going to cover 80' in one go, so she ran as far as she could, weaving back and forth to try and throw off any follow up attack.  Hopefully.

Selvin and Zac tried to twist in the air to avoid the explosion but still caught a bit. And since neither were near full health, every little bit hurt. They let out a combined growl and flew in a charge at the...god? avatar? someone pretending?

He reaches up and grabs Zac.  Zac does not like that.  Not at all. 14 pts damage.  Zac feels like he's burning

Selvin winced as his friend was hurt more, but Zac hung on. He knew there was a good chance they wouldn't both survive the battle, but he would do what he can to make sure his friends did.

A Freaking God! Zuni thought, looking at the lizardman who claimed to be Zon-Kuthon.  She wasn't one for religion so she couldn't know for sure if Zon-Kuthon really looked like a lizard or not.  "Whoever you are, you are going down!" she snarled.  "Your dark designs will go no further!"  It sounded corny to be sure, something entirely out of the stories that her mentor used to read her, but it seemed appropriate.

She charged up to him, thrusting forward with her Aldori blade.

Selvin's face contorted in fury as he saw the being hit Zuni. Spittle flew from his mouth when he yelled, "LEAVE HER ALONE YOU ASSHOLE!"

The pair launched themselves at the 'divine being' once more, anger driving their strikes.

Zuni almost fell to her feet from the force of Zon-Kuthons blow.  She cursed loudly once more.  "...that bloody hurt..." she muttered through gritted teeth.  It was time to see if she could return the favour.  She slashed her blade in sweeping arcs, drawing bloody little lines on the avatar.  On her last swing, as she brought her sword back to a ready guard, she reached out with her free hand to grab at the man.

Lucky knew what the target of his attacks should be now.  The Queen was the key.  He had a way to hit her but had no idea how much damage he needed to do.  Would be so much easier if he could alert Selvin somehow but he was thick in combat and it would be hard so he turned to Izzick, "Izzick, this may sound weird but Chandanar's ghost just spoke to me and said that if we destroy the queen's body the lizard god would be trapped here.  Can you do anything to it with your magic?"

Lucky then grabbed his knife and moved 10 ft away from the lizard god and threw it at the queen hoping to do some damage.

Zon-y Baby takes notice, more so of Zuni's blade than Selvin/Zac's stings.  But he does take notice.

He also takes notice as Izzick starts to respond to Lucky's call.

A beam rushes out from Zon's hands, burning through the air and missing all of you...except Izzick.

The half orc screams and crumples over.

Lucky,, two of your knives strike Queen's body.  The chandelier swings from the impact.  Her body kind of lurches out and flops halfway out of the chandelier.  But she doesn't fall...

Selvin was an afterthought. He did some damage, sure, but the others had things that made it focus more on them. He heard Lucky's words - and even though he thought it weird that Chandanar was talking to the guy neweest in the group, he knew that ghosts and spirits were real. He saw the being turn it's attention towards Izzick, he growled out a "NO!"

Then he did something that his types were usually more known for than he did. He took a step back from the creature and started casting a spell. And it wasn't a quick cast spell either. It took him a bit more time.

Lucky had to wonder if it was even doing anything but he did as Chandanar had asked.

Selvin had to cast for a while but finally completed the spell. He leaned forward suddenly as if someone had been holding him back, letting out a breath. Three beings made of fire appeared, huge in size. They looked at Selvin who said, "Two of you, go destroy that body. You, go kill that guy."

Two of them headed for the queen's body and one headed towards Zon, with Selvin flying in to charge as well.

Queenie's body comes apart under the barrage.  Her legs go one way.  Her arms each go in different directions.  Her head rolls across the ground.  And her torso...her precious, precious torso...that just kind of becomes a greasy spot on the floor.

Zuni slashed out at Zon-Kuthon with a snarl as the lizard...thing...whatever...raced away from her.  She turned and gave chase, intending to continue on with what they were just doing.  She paused briefly, watching the dead queens body hit the floor.

"Lucky?!  What are you doin...." Her shout was cut short by a massive sonic boom that threw her back 50'.

Selvin and Zac, along with the Fire Elemental, were blown back from Zon, but neither seemed to suffer damage from it. Selvin and Zac shook their heads but then let out a growl and charged right back in again. The Fire Elemental was quick on the Summoner's heels as well, both lashing out at the 'divine being' once more.

The two Fire Elementals attacking the queen's body each went after a limb, starting with the arms, moving after them and trying to smash and burn them.

Zon grunts when you stab him Zuni.  He reeeaaallly doesn't like that sword.

But he ignores it, as well as your blows Selvin and surges forward towards what's left of Queenie.

With her torso nothing more than a greasy spot, your blow lands on her head Lucky.  Her skull splits, but does not quite come apart.

The two elementals rush towards the arms Selvin.  One grabs the right arm and starts to sizzle it.  The other elemental grabs at the left arm and...

Zon unleashes a swirling blast of cold, frigid air that winks that elemental out of existence.

So head is split but not quite destroyed.  Fire elemental has the right arm and is toasting it.

One elemental is down.  Zon is surging towards the scene of Queenie's discombobulated body.

Questions?

Selvin yelled at the elementals, "Burn those arms!"

And instead of going after Zon again, he charged the queen's legs! He unleashed a flurry of blows towards them both, or at least the closest one, trying to do as much as he could. He knew it was probably the head that was the lynchpin, but better safe than sorry - and he didn't want to get in Lucky's way.

OOC: The first elemental tries to smash and burn the arm it was already attacking. Hit AC 33 for 13 dmg (and possible Burn) and Hit AC 17 for 7 dmg (and possible Burn). The other elemental makes it way to the arm that was vacated by the now-gone 3rd elemental, hitting AC 19 for 16 dmg (and possible Burn).

Selvin charges one or both of the legs (if they are too far apart then just the closest).

The hallway starts to tremble.

Zon roars something unintelligible and gestures...

...and the left arm has teleported into Zon's grip.

It's the left arm folks.  And Zon has it.

We are pretty close though.  I will tell you that it has less than 40 HP left.

It just has Zon as a goal keeper now.

Zuni was about to attack the arm again when it vanished, reappearing in Zon-Kuthons hands.  She rose up quickly, her sword sweeping up in a vicious arc, aiming for Zon-Kuthons arm.  "Bad god.  Drop it!" she snarled.

Spend 1 panache point for Targeted Strike Deed (Targeting the arm of Zon-Kuthon holding the arm)

Targeted Strike, if successful, should force Son-Kuthon to drop what he is holding, which is hopefully the arm.

Selvin and the elementals charged at the wannabe god with too many arms! The elementals moved to Zon himself to try and hurt and distract him. Selvin only attacked the arm, flying a bit, not wanting to get in the way of Zuni and Lucky. This needed to end soon before anyone else died.

Can do we called shots at all?  I was reading about ranged sunder also... is it half damage?  Based off these answers I will edit my post.

And then the tiles of the floor start falling away.  The bricks in the walls start getting sucked backwards.

You're all suddenly buffeted by a tremendous pressure that's trying to drag you down.  Like someone's pulled the cork and now all the water is rushing out, and it's trying to drag you down the drain with it.

You can see a spot of color forming on the ceiling above...


Zon rushes towards the nearest wall, his eyes glued on that spot of color.

The spot of color is 75' above.  It is in the middle of the ceiling, so 30' from either side.  You can try to fly up there or climb the walls.

Note, flying is going to be a tad bit difficult. There are forces surrounding this hallway and more or less sucking on it, trying to pull it into pieces.

Any movement attempt will require a STR check a 12-.  Flying, because you don't have a surface, even one that is crumbling apart, to give you support bumps the STR check up to 22-.

Zon can't fly either.

You can fail a check or two.   For now.

Remember.  Spot of color is 75' and then 30' over.

Zuni leapt for the relative safety of the wall and held on for dear life.  Her curse, which was probably very colourful, was lost in the noisy wind, and she winced as her long hair was whipped about her face.  She brushed her hair away for the moment and peered up at the opening in the ceiling.  Maybe, just maybe, there was something up there that she could get a rope to....

Selvin and the elementals swiped at Zon as he fled towards the wall. Then one of the elementals followed right on Zon's heels and tried to grapple them. The other elemental, and Selvin, were not so lucky, being pulled down towards the...well...nothingness or whatever, but the Elemental struggled forward to the wall.

OOC: So the AoOs are AC 25 for 29 dmg. AC 19 for 14 dmg. AC 26 for 10 dmg.

Strength checks: 1 Elemental made it and headed after Zon. Both elementals made it. Selvin did not (not at the flying DC). The Elementals move 60 feet. Can Selvin "land" and not fly next round?

Zon gets an AoO on the 1 Elemental that caught up to him as they attempt to grapple - Hit CMD 25.

You can try to land yes, Selvin.  It's actually just a To Hit check against an AC of 12 at this point. You can use all your attack rolls to try to make it.

So everyone knows, if you miss a STR check, you can make a To Hit action to try to "land"/stay connected to the parts of reality that are still in place.  But that will get harder and harder with each passing round.  Next round, if you miss the STR check, you must try to hit against an AC 14, then AC 16, etc.  +2 for each round thereafter.

Of course, considering you are all mosters, I doubt that will be too much of a challenge for at least four rounds.

Anyway...

As you struggle up the wall Zuni, you focus on the spot of color.  It appears it's a spot of color is...it's a tapestry?  No.  Yes.  The spot of color is like looking through a hole in a wall and into a banquet hall.  There's a tapestry.  A large dining table.  Thick chairs.  No people though.

Zon roars in rage and turns on the elemental who is on him. And then the elemental stops being on him.  Or existing.  Bye bye Elemental.  Sad to see you go.

Next round.  Most STR checks if you are moving.  If you are just bracing yourself on the wall, you don't need to roll.

ooc: Just realized I have slippers of Spider Climbing so movement is 20.  Do I need to roll a str check still?

Holding on the wall with one hand, Zuni used her other hand, and her teeth, to secure the end of a rope to a grappling arrow.  Taking aim quickly, Zuni fired the arrow into the opening.

The remaining elemental attacked Zon for what would likely be one last time. But if they could distract the 'divine being' a bit, there was a better chance it wouldn't be able to escape. Which was kind of the point.

Selvin grabbed at something, anything, to not have to fly through this horrible sucking drain. He managed it, and then pushed way to the wall. He looked over at Zon and let out a growl. Soon.

The last brave elemental lands on Zon and for a moment, seems to push the Zon-ster down to teh floor.  But that may have just been Zon getting leverage.  He straightens, tossing the Elemental up into the air.  The void snatches it and fwooshes it off into the nothing this world is becoming.

Zuni, you arrow flies through the color spot.  You feel it hit...something.  A quick tug on the line shows the arrow is caught.

You have a life line.

Zuni:  If you want to use the life line, you can shimmy up it in two rounds.  STR check for this first round...

Well.  I'll tell you that after you tell me if you're shimmying up the rope.

Selvin and Lucky, you guys do see what Zuni just did.  You can continue up the wall if you like.  Or you can head to her position.  Either one is one round of movement.

Lucky, count up the number of rounds you've been moving and give yourself 20' for each round.  I think this would be three rounds so far, so you would be closest to the color splotch.  It would make more sense for you to continue spider climbing to it instead of going backwards to get to the rope.

Zuni tied the end of the rope around her waist and started to pull herself up the rope.  Or tried to.  The suction pulling everything down was really strong.  "...hate....climbing..." she complained through teeth tightened by the effort.

So Lucky, you can head through the hole next round.  Zuni, you are drifting in the air at the end of the rope, pulling yourself up.  You no longer have the support of the wall.  if that rope breaks...

Selvin saw what Zuni had done and gave a nod. Good. And Lucky was walking his way out. Great. They would both survive. He turned his eyes towards Zon once more, even as the last elemental was wiped from existence.

He began climbing towards the divine being once more, intending to ensure that only his friends made it out of there.

OOC: Speed is normally 40 feet, not sure how far away Zon would be at that point. Selvin's intention is to get between Zon and the way out and keep him from escaping, if he is trying to escape.

Lucky saw the rope go taut and for a brief second he looked down to see Zuni flapping around on the other end.

With the opening close now Lucky moved to it and tried to climb through.

Zon appears to be using his feet/toe claws to dig into the flooring.  He glares at you as you make your way towards him Selvin.  He doesn't look happy.

Lucky, you poke your head through the hole.  It looks like a banquet hall of some type.  You see several large, muscular women gathered around a table, studying Zuni's arrow, which has lodged into one of the large table's sturdy legs.

They all swivel their heads to look at you.  One of them points at the rope attached to the arrow.  Another one nods and unsheathes a sword...

Lucky, there are five battlemaiden types standing around, about to cut Zuni's rope.  About thirty feet away from your present location.

You gonna let them do that?

Selvin, not realizing his friends might need his help up on the other side of the hole, faced off against the Zonanater. He unleashed a flurry of attacks at the other being, lightning crackling all around the three of them. The half-elf and the symbiote let out a combined growl.

OOC: Heh. 2 Nat 20s. That is weird but I guess pretty cool for a climax.

Zuni scrambled for some sort of purchase, her arms and legs flailing wildly, and probably comically, as she swung through the open space.  Thank the gods that she had managed to secure that rope or else she would have...better not to think about that.  She was already trying hard not to panic.

When her swing brought her close to the wall, she desperately reached out to grab hold of something.

With himself now safe or at least he thought safe, Lucky had seemed to jump from the frying pan into the fire.

When he spotted the women grab up their blades, Lucky called to them.  "Please, please don't cut that rope.  My friend is on the other side and she may die if you cut it.  There is a horrible lizard-like creature chasing us and wants to kill us.  If it gets through this hole we are all dead!!!"

Zuni you crappitycrappitycrappity over and manage to get one foot on a section of wall.  Below you, you can see Selvin lock into Zon.

I wonder what Izzick is up to?

Selvin and Zac grit their teeth in a fierce grimace as for a moment it looked like their quarry might be going to pass them by or kill them. But then there was a moment where the universe seemed to hesitate and go quiet...before the wall gave way!

Selvin's eyes widened and Zac reached out to try and find purchase on the wall or anything they could get ahold of, but it didn't look too good.

Zuni held on to the wall forbear life, her fingers digging into the stone like a cat scratching at a post.  She spat out a long strand of hair that had somehow been blown between her teeth.

Looking around furiously, trying to find where Zon-Kuthon was and what he was doing all this time, Zunis eyes fell upon Selvin and Zac.  "Selvin!" she screamed, instinctively reaching out towards him even though he was decidedly out of reach.

The dumbfounded looks on the women's faces made sense to Lucky but at least they weren't going to cut the rope, for now at least.  "Yes, there is a terrible god-like lizardman that is trying to escape his plane.  I barely made it out of there and back to my plane.  Please, if you can help me pull on the rope to get my friend out we can pay you!!!  If you doubt me come look through this hole."

So I was debating about whether to do this.  But I gotta do it.

Zuni, your outstretched hand is, as you surmised, too far away.  Selvin and Zac have latched onto a section of wall, Zon grasping on <puprle>Zac's</purple> stinger/tail thing and the three of them flapping like a battered flag in a wind storm.

That's when Izzick suddenly flies past.  He lands on Selvin/Zac's back and manages to get his legs wrapped around the ectoplasmic eildon.  He then shoves his hands in Zon's direction and shouts, "Yippee Kiya Muthafucka!"

You're not sure if that's some kind of mystical chant.  But Izzy does seem to be casting some kind of spell...

Of course Zon has noticed this as well and is opening his mouth like he's about to do something....

Selvin, you are dimly aware of all this.  Mostly that Zon has a hold on some appendage of Zac's.

Zuni...Izzick is trying to cast a spell.  Zon is getting ready to breath weapon him and Selvin.  You can act if you wish/can think of something.

Otherwise, I will need one of the two of you to roll me an init for Izzick.  I'm not going to do that one for you.

Zuni was too far away from Zon and Selvin.  She couldn't reach either, with hand or sword, and she had to do something to stop the Lizard Zon or at least distract him.

Clinging hard to the wall with one hand, Zuni dug into a pouch along her waist.  In one fluid motion, her fingers tightened around a small vial of black goo, which she then proceeded to throw at the Lizards open mouth.

OOC:

Damage -> 38 normally (not sure if to x2 it from the critical, if it applies)

"Killing me is not an option.  Either help or do nothing ladies."  Lucky didn't like the thought that these women could possibly worship the damn creature trying to kill his companions.

Lucky looked about the room for what else was around besides the women.

After yelling out his bizarre incantation, Izzick almost tbrusts his hands towards Zon's head and a beam of black light washes forward.  Zon takes it full on, part of his shoulder coming to nothingness from the blast.

But he manages to hold onto you Selvin...until a flask of black goo smushes him on what's left of his face.

With a roar, he's suddenly flying away through the ether.  He seems to become a dot in the distance rather quickly.

Then what's left of the wall starts to come apart.  It seems the hall's disintergration has sped up.

Meanwhile, back with Lucky

One of the walls at the far end of the hall collapses Lucky.  Through it, a giant worm of a purplish color slides through.  Or as much as it can.  It's a little bigger than the hall.

It's really a big worm.  It's giant maw opens revealing rows and rows of razor sharp teeth.

The ladies decide it ain't worth it.  They start running.

At the same time, a halfling sticks his head out of the worm's maw.  He looks around then at you Lucky

"Oi.  You.  The murky lookin' guy.  Lookin' for some people.  A half orc.  This kinda butch chick.  This really snarky cleric.  And this guy who's...like...got this glowing horse-shark-manticore thing surrounding him.  You seen 'em?"

Zuni and Selvin, I need you guys to try to get out of that hole.

Zuni, you have five STR checks you can make.  You need to make two of them and not fumble any of them.

Selvin, you have five STR checks to make.  You need to make three of them and not fumble any.

Selvin reached out towards Izzick, letting out a roaring shout of anger and fear. "IZZICK! NOOOOO!"

He turned towards Zon with fury in his eyes, breathing heavily, claws ready. But the wall began to disappear. He let out a snarl and turned away to leave the bastard to his fate.

He headed towards Zuni, determined to make sure she made it out of the deathtrap, even if he didn't.

OOC: Will be helping Zuni to make it out if she fails as a priority, himself secondary.
14:05, Today: Selvin Larst rolled 13,16,22,24,11 using d20+9,d20+9,d20+9,d20+9,d20+9.  STRENGTH OF THE BEAR! (Bravestarr humor).

"Yaa!" Zuni let out a triumphant shout as she watched her thrown vial explode on the Lizards face.  "That was for Chandanar ya scaly bastard!  Mess with my friends and you get kablooey goo in the face!"

Her moment of glory was fleeting as the wall that she was holding on to started crumbling.  Zunis demeanor changed as she looked up towards the hole in the roof.  The very far away hole.  While being sucked into a gaping void after battling the avatar of a god would be a good death, Zuni very much did not want to her story to end here.

"Selvin!  Izzick!" she shouted as she slowly climbed up the side towards the hole.  "We are leaving!  All of us.  Don't make me come to get you!"

She smiled at Selvin as he flew towards her, and reached a hand out towards him.  They were both going to leave this place.

Lucky had no idea what was happening now as the wall fell apart near the women.  Then as a giant purple worm came through he looked down to his kukri and back to the worm and shrugged, 'better than nothing'.  Lucky braced himself and was ready to spring away in a heartbeat if the work came to attack him.

No attack came though and as the worm opened its mouth and the halfling came out asking questions, Lucky had a surprised look on his face.  All Lucky could do to answer at that moment was to look towards the hole and point while saying, "inside there!  Zuni is holding to that rope to escape the plane that is collapsing inside."

He shrugs.  "Okay then.  Well.  I got some guys an' of course this worm.  I can tug 'em out if you want...oh.  Never mind.  Here they are."

And with a heave and a ho, Zuni, Selvin/Zac, and Izzick come out of the hole.

Just in time as the hole suddenly collapses in on itself.  And...

You're all looking at each other.  And the halfling.  And the worm.

The halfling scratches his nose.  "So.  Nice ta see ya.  This guy calls himself Tarrov sent me lookin' for ya.

"Seems like you guys conquered this city or somethin'.  Congrats on that."

The worm roars, seeming to congratulate you as well...
