And They All Lived Ever After...Happily Or Otherwise

The mop up operations continue for a while.  But without the Queen/Zon's influence, the dragons who formed the crux of her support fell to infighting or got bored and wandered away.  Korsova was ruined, burning, still smelled terrible, but it had survived.

All thanks to five persons who would go on to live in the stories and songs and curses and graffiti and dirty limmericks of generations to come...

And we are out people!

Would like to give a big thanks to all of you players, those still with me and those who fell by the wayside.  When I started this game back in 2013 I thought, "Ah.  It's RPOL.  What are the odds I'll finish an entire AP?"  It was only thanks to you guys that we got it done.

Thanks to Lucky for coming in during the final act and giving us the new blood we needed to push it thorugh.

Thanks to Zuni for being her own sweet, lovable butch chick self and keeping her boys in line.

And special thanks to Selvin for sticking with me since the start.  I love you man!

I'm going to post some "Where Are They Nows" for various NPCs. Feel free to add one for your PCs so we know whether their Ever After was Happy or Not.

Thanks again!  All Hail the Purple Worm!

Tarrov

After the last of the fighting, an interim government was formed under the bard Tarrov.  Though he had proven an able rebel commander, he couldn't give up his first love of theater.  After a scandal involving two bar maids, the libretto of a saucy opera, and a hatchet throwing contest, Tarrov retired from political life.  He now owns and operates the Frolicking Nymph Theater, renowned for their saucy puppet shows.

Izzick

One of the "Big Four" who saved the city and maybe the world, Izzick helped to reestablish the Korvosa Institute of Magic.  After a few years as director, he stepped down to pursue his hiddden love:  necromancy.

"I always denied being a necromancer," Izzick told a biographer.  "But when I look back, I think I was just denying my true self.  I love the dead.  Not in that way of course.  I run a respectable operation."

Izzick would retire to the underground lair he had visited twice before with his friends.  Keeping it clear of "riff raff", he still hosts the tea parties that have made him high society's darling.

Turns out that weird halfling who lived inside a purple worm had a weirder name.  Who knew?

Though he tried living in the city for a while, he soon turned back to his roots: living in a smelly purple worm, surrounded by mushroom people.

Relocating to the wilds surrounding the city, he eventually became a power mad dictator who threatened Korvosa and the region with destruction if they did not meet his demands.

But that's another story for another party. And some other GM.

King Pig

There's money to be made in revoloution, and King Pig is proof.  Having collected a large number of valuables, and having earned quite a bit of coin from selling weapons to the rebels, King Pig retired to the port town of Sand Point, where he became a philanthropist.  He opened  a school to teach orphans a trade.  Never mind that trade was picking pockets or forging wills.  A trade is a trade.

KP would eventually open a chain of frog leg restaurants that became a hit throughout the region.  This was followed by his King Pig BBQ, which was not so much a hit.

There are rumors he's developing a new sport based on a game he played during the revolution. But having trouble finding players for the teams.

He'll keep trying though.  That King Pig.  Always reaching for the stars.

King Pig

Zuni lounged on the throne, her legs dangling over one of the high seats arms.  One hand was playing with one of her many daggers, the blade balancing on the tip of her finger, while the other hand held a bottle that she took occasional sips from.  She had taken the room, in addition to what it represented, through three claims.  The first one having been that she had helped to kill the previous Queen.  It was a group effort of course but Zuni had been vocal about the fact that she should be the rightful heir to the throne as a result.  The second was that she had managed to find the Queens crown, which she wore at a rakish angle on her head.  Thirdly, she had invoked the ancient right of 'Finders, Keepers', with no take backs.

In the chaotic few days that had followed the bloody overthrow of Illeosa, Zuni had taken the effort to scavenge through the palace, something that she had not had the chance to do before.  And having been raised on the streets, always looking at the outside of the palace and never seeing the inside of it, she was like a child before a candy merchants stand.  She had found the bottle amongst the ruins of what was probably a wine cellar, along with a few others.  She wasn't sure just what the liquor was, but it was liquor and had a strong taste that warmed her all the way to her belly.

She had also rummaged through some of the closets that must have belonged to the Queen or some other noble lady.  Never had she had the chance to touch such finely tailored dresses, and she took full advantage of the opportunity.  Even now, she was wearing a long, goofy gown, that left her shoulders bared and her décolletage on display.    Of course she was much smaller than the Queen had been which meant that the dress did not fit properly.  The end result made her look like a child trying on her others clothing.  Zuni didn't care.  The dress was pretty and she was going to feel pretty for once in her life dammit.  Besides, Finders, Keepers.

This wasn't going to last of course.  She doubted that her claim to the throne would be honoured, and they would probably toss her out of the place once the nobles got their acts together, finished backstabbing one and other, and decided who was actually going to be the new Queen.

"All hail Queen Zuni." she called out before taking a drink from the bottle.  She was going to enjoy it while it lasted.  The bottle felt much lighter now.  Had she drunk so much of it already?  Zuni frowned.  Maybe she should cut back on the drinking.  Maybe she did drink too much.  "To the victors...."

For now, she lounged about on the throne, waiting for the rest of her companions to arrive.  There was the future to discuss.
