Karga slows his pace, but does not stop his patrol.  "I was ordered by the Thulkarr to guard this chamber against intrusion during the battle that destroyed most of Slaughterguarde.  I remain here until the Thulkarr orders me otherwise."

Scalesa files that name away for the not-too-distant future.  At the moment, though... The half-elf loads her cross bow, and points it at the goblin's chest.

Guelph stands silently and watches as his friends talk to the construct, wondering how long it might have been walking its patrol in this small room.

Haaj sits down on the edge, next to Guelph and let the others work

Karga shakes his head.  "The Thulkarr are the elder spellcasters of my race, my rulers.  I cannot, and will not, disobey their orders.  To find them?" he says with a short chuckle, "You'd have to travel to Archeron."

The goblin sneers at Scalesa, biting at the crossbow pointed at its chest.  ""

Mina realized that changing Karga's mind would not be possible. It was a shame that the creature was doomed to a life of endless walking, and being alone. However she was not about to travel to Archeron...at least not for now.

"Karga, have you been anywhere in the Slaughtergarde but this room? Can you tell me what lies in that direction?" she asked pointing to the ledge at the East.

"That I do not know.  Strange sounds come from that area though: an occasional and rather annoying howl."

Next, Scalesa says something in a language unlike Goblin.  It is a lovely tongue, but her tone and affectations mar it.  [Language unknown: "Lo ionkorart us fiacll onsthaard heet inglinard..."]

Again, the half-elf begins to perform another feat of spellcraft.

Hypnotism!  It won't likely improve the goblin's attitude by that much, but it should work!

 Since the artificial guardian seems, if not friendly, at least harmless for now, Desra lets the more intimidating (and goblin-speaking) in the group deal with the prisoner and climbs down the ladder.

 She carefully keeps her distance from "Karga", and circles wide around the summoning circles to get a different perspective on the room. She's especially interested in what happens on the opposite ledge --if anything.

Guelph watches Desra make the attempt to get to the other ladder without being accosted by the construct.

If Desra makes it safely across and up the other ladder, Guelph will follow, making sure he waits to put as much distance between the construct's patrol path and himself as possible :)

The goblin cackles at Scalesa.  No words, just incessant, shrill laughing.



I don't know how it keeps making these saves!

Desra and Guelph enter and exit the pit uneventfully.  After a moment, howls echo through the chamber.

"That is what I was talking about," sighs Karga.

Scalesa scowls, and slams her cross bow stock into the goblin's face, hissing a curse in the goblin tongue.  As she returns to her standing posture, she starts as if she is going to kick or shove it, but instead lets out a satisfied sigh.  "He wouldn't talk." Next, she says in her sweetest voice possible, "Next in line!"

...then, said mystery roar is heard.

Clearly, this woman is a master of interrogation.  Thieves' guilds would pay top platinum for her services.  Yes, indeed.

The goblin slumps over, slack-jawed.  A small pool forms from the blood dripping from it's nose.

Guelph gets out his club and looks about for the source of the howling.

The construct shakes his head slowly.  "No, I've never seen the source of the noise."

"Spiked monster!" Guelph yells out from where he stands looking up the corridor, gripping his club and readying for battle.

Standard: Ready club attack if the thing comes into range

Should I roll that now, or let you do it if it comes up?

Here's an overview of where everyone is.  At this point, only Desra and Guelph can see the threat, due to the range of Desra's light.

With the creature seemingly halted for the time being, Guelph turns to the construct. "Karga, is there a way around the spiked monster?"
