In reply to Guelph (msg # 151):

Mina smiled a Guelph's words. "Nonsense," she replied, "you would have done the same for me if our fates were reversed. I'm just glad I was able to help...We are an odd lot, but we have to look out for one another if we're to survive." she added before sliding in line behind the warriors being wary of the edges of the cavern. Falling into a black hole, the gods know how deep wasn't one of the things on her to-do list today.

"This is true," Scalesa offered.  She flicked a mechanism on her cross bow.  "Please, don't tell me you're broken." The half-elf looked up.  "What direction will we be going in?  Or, more importantly, where do footprints, if any, lead...?"

Re: Slaughterguarde Laboratory

The group moves northward through the dark cavern, guided my Desra's light.  The bridge is a suspension bridge similar to the one crossed entering this room.  The cavern opens up to a dead end to the west, and wraps around to the east and behind  you.  Ahead, a steep set of stairs rises above you.

Desra follows Guelph with her light-casting shield.
If at all possible, she recommends avoiding too much weight on the bridge. That is two armored or one unarmored at once.

The group crosses the bridge and begins to climb the stairs without incident.  The bridge holds and is steady.

The stairs are steep and require a bit more effort than normal.  Guelph and Scalesa climb first, and can see partially into the room.

Guelph grips his enchanted club and moves carefully into the room before turning and swinging it at some unseen foe. "Behind me!" he says hoarsely to the others as he bring his club down.

Move: 5ft step North
Standard: club attack on goblin

Note: I count six rounds left on my Shillelagh spell (five after this woefully inadequate attack lol). Let me know if that sounds right to you.

17:21, Today: Guelph rolled 7 using 1d20+3. club attack on goblin.

Re: Slaughterguarde Laboratory

The attempted goblin ambush fails, as both Scalesa and Guelph are able to detect the goblins hiding around the corners.  Unfortunately, the well armored goblins resist the counter-attacks of our heroes - so far!  Haaj, Scalesa and Mina find themselves with time to maneuver before the goblins are able to react.

He lets go of the arrow, letting it streak towards the goblin.
Before the arrow is halfway, the bow is on the ground and Haaj goes for his sword to meet the goblin in melee.
The cursed arrow hits the goblin on the shoulder, bouncing off.

Scalesa clicked her tongue in disgust at her terrible aim and drew her mace, putting her cross bow into her other hand.  Without wasting a second, she brought her bludgeon down at the goblin.

Switching cross bow to off-hand, drawing light mace; attacking G3.

17:41, Mon 27 Jan 2014: Scalesa rolled 19,2 using 1d20,1d6 ((19,2)).

Re: Slaughterguarde Laboratory

Haajrayn's arrow misses, so he draws his weapon and takes a step forward.  Scalesa swings her mace towards a goblin and it lands with a hollow *thud* against its armor, causing the creature to wince in pain.  Mina expels a blinding rainbow of colors towards the goblin on the far wall.  The spray of colors washes over it, and the goblin slumps to the ground.

The two standing goblins attack the foes directly in front of them, but Guelp and Desra are able to easily evade the attacks.

Desra glanced behind the goblin, and thanks to her light-casting shield, she noted the drop behind him.

Instead of trying her luck with the sword, the young priestess held her shield firmly and shouldered into the goblin in the hope of pushing him back and down the hole.

Re: Slaughterguarde Laboratory

Since most of you can see into the room, I'll reveal what lies beyond the ledge.

Four circles of glowing red sigils are carved on the floor of the large chamber 20 feet below you.  A massive creature seemingly formed of stone walks around them, a two-bladed sword held in its rocky gauntlet.  It pauses and turns its head to look at you, then resumes its walk among the glowing circles.  On the far side of the chamber, to the north, is another ledge like the one you're standing on.

In reply to Game Master (msg # 171):

Smiling to herself Mina slid past her companions and walked over to the goblin she had incapacitated. She reached into her pack and retrieved a bit of rope and bound the unconscious goblin, and gagged him. Then she turned her attention to the stone-like creature below. She didn't attack, or make any threatening moves, instead she studied the thing, to see if it had any pattern to it's patrolling, or it was just a random stroll.

Re: Slaughterguarde Laboratory

Also, this is the description of the room you're currently in (I had sent it only to Guelph and Scalesa when they could see it):

Four mirrors that have green, glowing frames are mounted on the western and northern walls.  Most are cracked.  The eastern portion of the room has no wall, instead the precipice there apparently leads to a much larger room.  A long ladder lies flat near the western edge.
