Happy New Years all.
I hope you all have the best of luck outside of the game.
Inside... well, let's not ask for the impossible. >:D

Re: OOC

I'm honestly getting really confused about the pacing of this game. I try to wait for people, like to rebuke Tath and cut the bat free myself, but some people aren't posting at all and some double post...

Re: OOC

The wait in posting's my fault. A good number of the games I'm in have been suffering because of the dreaded block.

I'll try to churn something out tonight.

Feliph: I know it's rigid, but if everyone agrees with it, do you think a posting order would help?

I think that would work better for me at least.

I guess I might as well post at this point, it's been a while for me.

Re: OOC

My general rule is no more than two posts before everyone else posts. That and I try to wait a bit. 6 days and then 5 days after that was the wait time here.

As far as posting orders, I'd rather not. From my past experience, it only leads to the game screeching to a halt. All it takes is one person to stop everything and then it just builds up as the others don't check in as often so even when the first person posts, the next isn't on the lookout and is slow to reply and so on.

Re: OOC

I don't really have any official preference on posting rates, but I will gladly consider any suggestions or concerns you all may have.

It can be a bit difficult to gauge the ideal posting rate for a game, but as long as you aren't making extra posts faster than the majority can read them (in this game's case, it seems like most active players check in approximately once a day when people are posting) then you probably don't have to worry too much about being impolite. Also, as Tora noted, it probably isn't possible to continue the game smoothly waiting for everyone, particularly since a few of our players haven't checked in yet this new year.

As a gm, my own posting rate currently might have some exceptions in the following circumstances:

1. Someone made an action that influences the story. If, for example, someone pressed the big shiny button of doom, that is something that needs to be resolved as soon as possible to continue the story. If other people have had time to read it and haven't responded, I assume they are waiting for a result.

2. Someone is doing their own thing. If one of you is off fishing alone or something, then your part in the story doesn't need to go exactly the same rate as everyone else's.

3. If the majority of players have read the last post, and the game goes inactive for a week or so afterwards without any notices of absence, I tend to make a post (sometimes even a double post) to reflect the progress of time. I have personally found that this helps to move the story, particularly if players forget to check the game or don't know what to do.

This is by no means an official policy, so let me know what works best for you all.
I love playing with each and every one of you so far, so it's the least I can do to try to work something out if anything can be improved. Thanks, and sorry for the long post. ^_^

(PS: if you are going by a formal/informal posting order, please don't wait for Zigor, since he's my character I don't really feel comfortable talking to myself too often. :P )

It's cool. I've been busy too so it worked out well. ;)

Edit: I'd rather wait and see what Eve does before I post and react to it (and the countess). Unless Eve REALLY wants me to go first of course.

Hi, all!

I'm a friend of Eve's who has assumed control of Lan.  Hoping I can weave my way into the story smoothly!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Slightly edited Lan's bio page, hoping to bring out a more "Robin Hood" archetype than the run-of-the-mill thief.  We'll see how it goes.
