Re: OOC 21

I'm  not in any RQ games either since Golden Prax II wound up. My friend who used to GM face to face is talking about running Knives in the Dark, but it's been a few years. We mostly play boardgames online or in the games cafe

Re: OOC 21

Hope everyone has been well  :)

I finally caught COVID-19 in December, but fortunately symptoms were mild (had had 4 vaccines shots by then).  And since then have been way too busy to try to join any games (the one Discord game I did join before getting busy petered out after a couple of sessions cos it became too hard to schedule a convenient time for people).

Technically in 3 real life/face-to-face games at the moment (one Pathfinder 1e, one D&D 5e, one Call of Cthulhu), but sessions are irregular and take place every few months...

Looking forward to the Cults of Runequest/Glorantha books. I understand breaking up the books into 10 but too bad it's going to take longer for them all to be released...

Re: OOC 21

I assume Lightbringers is coming out first because so much of its material is already reviewed and formatted from RQriQ. But really, is it going to tell me anything that wasn't in Cults of Prax 40 years ago? At least Earth Pantheon may have some new content. I'll be interested to see what the Donandar spells are now (I'm guessing the attuned remote playing instruments from Red Book of Magic are his which may mean he has less illusion in his portfolio)

If it really is ten books, then it'll tell you that your wallet will be a lot lighter than just referring to CoP... :)

Re: OOC 21

I too have been gameless for some years, but might just about come back to life at some point. Although I only have RQ6 (not Mythras), I might give Akala a nudge. I've  kept up on the new Chaosium Gloranthan materials, but trying to keep up with the Jonstown Compendium stuff is too rich even for my blood.

Temush Blinking-cloud:

Perhaps it's because of my fascination with the works of Oliver Dickinson, but I can't wait to see what they make of Vinga: will she be Orlanthsdottir, or an aspect of Orlanth, or both depending on one's myth, or something else perchance? Whatever they come up with, I imagine there'll be a new "Griselda was a Vingan" line of argument to squish.
The other one I'll be looking forward to is the Solar book: what on earth they do with [Y]Elm[al][io] could be fascinating.

In the "real world" my dad passed away (C19) August 2021 and I'm still helping my mum clear out his lifetime of hoarded stuff. Don't waste your sympathies on me on that one though - my current growl is, "Instead of bequeathing me an inheritance he bequeather me a bloomin' job". Oh, and t'missus is fully recovered and cured after spending a year on chemo for Hodgkins. So it's been an "interesting" couple of years but all is merry and bright now.

Hope the Wandering Rangers are doing well; and still keeping my fingers crossed that our beloved GM (who doesn't seem to want to be found and is damn good at hiding any online presence) is OK. Or at least not dead in a ditch.

Hi. Well first I have to apologize for vanishing in to the void. Stuff, lots of it all at once. I'm glad to see so many of you still popping in.

All is good right now. I think I shall go re read the story....

I've emailed Hoskar, just in case he's not getting email notifications from rpol, but it would appear that he's out of office until next week

Although I must confess to having been a tad worried for you, GM, absolutely no apologies needed this end. As I've said before, you owe us nothing and we owe you much. I rejoice greatly to know that all is good for you at the moment. Long may things continue in that vein.

I don't get Rpol notifications, huge thanks to Melock for letting me know our beloved GM had posted.

Re: OOC 21

Thought I should pop in too. It's been a.....time.

I almost dropped out of rpol completely, partly voluntary, partly involuntary. The good news is that my daughter arrived! Who is now 2 ish and the best thing ever to have happened...ever.

I won't bother sharing the bad news, but life truly sucks sometimes. My head is now mostly together, though I do not have much spare time, and when I do I tend to sleep.

Hope everyone is doing well and look forward to talking to you again, though its been years since I posted in a game.

Sorry it's been an up and down couple of years for you, but truly happy to hear about your baby girl  :D  Congratulations  :)  I guess you won't have much spare time for a number of years now  :P

Re: OOC 21

Congrats Amara! I always say life comes in two stages - the years up until you had kids, and then the years afterwards. My daughters are 21 and 16 now, definitely the best thing ever.

I caught COVID roughly two months ago, would not recommend.

Hope you made a complete recovery, Salen.

I got Covid in December last year (when there was expected to be a spike of infections where I am).  Meant I missed Christmas get-togethers, but I was fortunate I only got a mild version.
And I was very fortunate in that, if I had to get Covid, it was the best time - 2 weddings in November, then got Covid/isolated in December and recovered in time to fly overseas in early January for a 3rd wedding feeling safe that I should have immunity while overseas.
Unfortunately none of the weddings were mine  :(

Re: OOC 21

Yeah, couple of really horrible weeks and still didn't feel great after that, but fine now.

I actually tested positive with my eldest on Christmas Eve 2021 - she had symptoms, I didn't. Meant we had to cancel all our plans for Christmas, but as we were meant to host my wife's family it didn't upset me that much! (They're nice, I'm just having a laugh)

Congratulations Amara, good luck with the sleep

I also had Covid for the first time over Christmas, and then again in August, immunity perhaps shorter than I would have hoped, but both were relatively mild, so all good.

Re: OOC 21

I've ended up with pneumonia 3 times over the last 18 months (was hospitalised once) and each and every time I had a COVID test that returned negative. I think I may be the only person in my work unit or even back home that has not caught COVID. It really sucks and I hope you all feel better and I REALLY hope I don't catch it myself.
