Re: OOC Thread #10:  Commandments

I think a new chapter at the gates of Magninar would be great way to move things forward.

In reply to The Raconteur (msg # 129):

Yeah, I'm fine fast-forwarding to Magnimar as well.  I've basically finished everything Cato wanted do to in Sandpoint.

Is there a reason Heidmarch Manor sounds familiar?  Have we encountered that name before in this game, or am I remembering it from something else?

I can tell you that no one has ever previously mentioned the Heidmarches to the party.

Liseth seems busy at college and hasn't checked in for a bit so until she gets settled in and back into a routine I'm planning to NPC her for a while.  So once Kellan and Pisca post I'll update.

I think I might be remembering it from Shattered Star.  I played in one game here that folded relatively soon, but I think the first encounter takes place in Heidmarch Manor.

Re: OOC Thread #10:  Commandments

Beautiful description of the bazaar.  Very nice.

I take it that this ...
The Raconteur:
“Yes, that Arwick Tosscobble.”  He looked up to see if any of the party took notice of his name.  Disappointed at the lack of reaction, he continued.

... is the result of multiple failed knowledge checks among us?  If not, mayI have just such a knowledge check whereby I might discover what it is that he's talking about?

Hmmm.  In fact, Taking 10 using the bard's Lore Master ability nets me a Knowledge Local of 20.  Can we go with that?  Knowledge History Taking 10 and using Archaeologist's Luck gives me 21, if that doesn't work.

Thank you, Pisca!

And no, you can't remember hearing anything about an Arwick Tosscobble.

Sorry for that extremely delayed response.  Still getting used to the kids being back in school, plus one started a new school, plus I'm teaching a class one night a week.  Where does the time go?

Re: OOC Thread #10:  Commandments

So, do you guys want to roleplay the conversation at Hungry Wolf Sundries or just work out what you're looking for here and see what's available, then have a post recapping things?

Re: OOC Thread #10:  Commandments

Just work out what you're looking for here and see what's available, might be best.  Generally, I'm all for roleplay.  But, given the current pace, I'm not sure that would be constructive.

Re: OOC Thread #10:  Commandments

We had a conversation quite a few month's ago.  I'm not sure where it is now.  I had a list of items and the only one you said that Pisca couldn't find in Sandpoint was a Circlet of Persuasion.

Re: OOC Thread #10:  Commandments

Yeah, I'm for doing the shopping OOC as well.  Cato would be interested in two things:
1) Lesser Rod of Extend Metamagic
2) Scroll of Cat's Grace

Also, how much magical item creation did Cato have time to do on the voyage here?  Was he able to identify the chimes and mask we found under Foxglove Manor?

Re: OOC Thread #10:  Commandments

Cato identified the chimes as Chimes of Opening.

He was unable to identify the mask.  You can tell that it has a faint aura of necromacy, and Kerr has informed you that it is definitely evil.
