Liseth Thoradin:
Now I have to wonder exactly what Pisca's 'Normal Life' entails.
That was a question I had too, Liseth. The biggest problem for me would be addressing the longer lifespan of gnomes. I've tried to address that a bit with Pisca by asking another question: How does 50 years of experience NOT equate to 50 years of human maturity? And, after reading the Pathfinder description of gnomes for the forty hundredth time, I decided that a gnome matures when he or she discovers his or her first obsession. Until that time, they are energy without direction.
One avenue that I'd considered was having Pisca attempt her library in Sandpoint. At this point, she would discover that setting something up is not as simple as making something happen. And running a library is not as simple as collecting books. There's community outreach and building. There's fundraising. There's human resource management - both paid staff and volunteer. There is ... Responsibility. (With a capital Response.) This changes her. Caring for Lunk changes her. How? I'm not sure right now. I'd have to play it out and see what she becomes.
BTW, this might be a good way to handle this
Priming concept. Rather than jumping right into the story where we left off. If I recall correctly, there were some sticky decisions to be made, which could bog things down. Free creation of ... THINGS. That is to say, anything. Doesn't have to be this ten year jump thing, but anything that brings us together to collaboratively flesh out our characters could provide a good venue for daily - if not multiple times daily - posting.
