Series Bible---Episode Synopsis

Season 1

Pilot: Encounters at Spacedock: The crew of the Vigilant prepare to launch from Spacedock when they are abducted by two omnipotent and omniscient beings called "G" and "L". They inform the crew that they belong to "The Network", and are responsible for overseeing realities. They reveal that this reality was artificially created, and The Network is considering terminating it. As the crew of the Vigilant have been chosen as their "target demographic", and G and L hope that by tipping them off that the crew will be able to demonstrate that this reality deserves to exist.
  • The Federation Council has abolished Section 31
  • Some Federation Council members are considering turning Starfleet into a fully military organization and replace its exploration mission with a new organization called the Federation Expeditionary Force.
  • Others are interested in abolishing Starfleet and replacing it altogether.

Episode 1: Only the Penitent May Pass...: On its first mission, the Vigilant stumbles upon the disembodied presence of an alien with the power to consume energy. After discovering the remnants of an ancient civilization obsessed with punishing even the smallest law infraction, the crew of the Vigilant manage to restore the alien's presence with his body and end his torment.
  • The device responsible was irreparably destroyed upon restoring the alien, Tienxu'Boa, to his body.
  • Dr. Zephyr and Lt. Carter transferred to the USS Ardent, a Starfleet science vessel assigned to study the remains of the Zhulwei civilization.

Episode 2: That Which Never Dies: The Vigilant visits the Federation colony on Vanadan to investigate pirate attacks and partake in shore leave when the ship and colony are attacked by a warlike race known as the Yotungaard. The away team is stranded on the planet after the Vigilant is forced to flee, but manages to blend in with the conquered colonists and lead the Yotungaard on the proverbial wild goose chase. The crew of the Vigilant manages to rescue the colonists, disable the Yotungaard ships, open diplomatic ties with the Yotungaard High Thegn, and finally enjoy shore leave.
  • The Yotungaard are a Viking-like race of warriors who look for conquest.
  • The Yotungaard leader and former nemesis of Captain Tabin, Uhl-Fen Pendrovoth, dies in a last ditch effort to defeat the Vigilant.
  • Sorvok, Spid'Dar, and Kler'ik are reassigned to different ships.
  • T'Enya is transferred back to Earth with Ensign Josip Nguyen taking over Intelligence operations.
  • s'Alka Rhu and Debra Strom are assigned to bridge duty.
  • Kimiko Harada and Felix Conrad join the Vigilant's crew.
