How about an amulet that provides a damage reduction to fire (15 hp DR)?

Re: OOC Thread 2
Last thing, about side quests.

There is really one more you can do called "Of the big and the Small". It actually fits pretty nice into where we ended up just now. I can keep the story going pretty easy from where we are for this quest. It is the quest that provides the fourth star......

Re: OOC Thread 2
A DR fire amulet would be great. Conrad would be a beast with haste and can you bump up Ruby's to a +2?  We are trying to save the land :)

Another side quest would be nice. Another level or two could do great for the end battle.  To tell the truth I am a little sad to see that we are coming to the end, i really like the story and our character development.

Makal has his healing item, but something to help boost the prowess of his allies in battle would be good.  Would there be an item that could up the dice provided by a bless spell to a d6 instead of a d4?

So.. a ring that gives a +1 to wisdom mod could work?

That would work fine.

groovy.

I considered a +2 but it seems a bit overpowered since it affects more than just spell DC it helps with Wisdom based checks and saves too.

Daw, shucks!

Yeah, actually a proper ranged weapon would be good. Not even considering the envenomed arrows, I have a ton of mobility but I could use it just as well for retreating while taking pot shots as I could closing into melee!

Re: OOC Thread 2
Hey, all. As I said in the other game, since I've had so much trouble getting to RPoL lately, between a baby and my illness, I'm taking a hiatus from some of of my games to make it easier to make my rounds without feeling overwhelmed. That said, I don't have a great plan for extricating Ruby from the caves. I'll leave it to the GM, but also suggestions from the peanut gallery.

At least we have a spare cleric :).

Hush cleric #2 and get out the healing spells :)   I hope things go well for you but I fully understand the needs of a newborn.  I hope to have you back when you can but I am fully confident in Makel's abilities (or the spare cleric).   Let's hope the DM doesn't do a Donnell exit strategy on you.

A swing from a giant's club usually has a way of "extricating" players :P

That said, good luck with your newborn.

Losing Ruby is a blow. Good player but I think we all understand.

So I am sorry I haven't been on this week. I am going on vacation starting tonight and it has been two weeks of a TON of hours at work. working my weekends, nights, ugg...

But I am bringing my laptop with me, so I'll post sometime this weekend or next week. Then we should pick back up again.

Ha!  Vacation is not vacation when work is concerned, they always make you double the hours before you leave and then play "catch up" when you return.  Have fun though and make the best of it.

Re: OOC Thread 2
Geez guys I am sorry. I have been super slammed, and if I'm being honest, for some dumb reason dreading posting here now. I don't get it.

Has nothing to do with anyone.

I am slammed at work and home and I guess that must be it. I take a freaking week off of everything and life says, "NO! Take this!".

I digress. It is going to probably be a while before I can post. I am considering shutting it down because of that.

Up to you guys. I will repost this in the other game too.

How should we/I deal?

Re: OOC Thread 2
If it's weighing on you, i say end it. It was fun, and a neat premise, but I've already moved on tbh. I think the options are to leave it dead or resurrect it.

In any case, thanks for running what you did and I hope you find some calm in your day to day. ♡

Re: OOC Thread 2
It's been a great run.  I think it's admirable we kept the game running for so many years.

Personally speaking, I've been focusing more on RL and been phasing out my rpol gaming lately.  Part of me would love to keep playing this game, since we had so many great sessions in it.  Part of me would be okay if we closed the chapter on this game.

We did so many side quests, I don't think we care that much about defeating the dragon.  I think killing the vampire and wiping out the bandits both felt much more dramatic and interesting than our final confrontation with the dragon would be.

Also, I made several choices with my character during playtesting, so I don't feel that attached to this character.  Rolling a new character for a new plot would be more interesting.

For me, because of RL, I'd be fine with ending the game.  If you guys wanted to keep playing, I'd be interested in playing more with the same people, perhaps with new characters and a new story.

Re: OOC Thread 2
We have had a great run and I want to say thank you to everyone for making it enjoyable.  RL has been hard lately also and I haven't minded the slowing of post but would like to finish out the module one day.  It is overwhelming to dm a game and if you would like to end it I fully understand.  Our characters have accomplished alot and it was fun doing all the side quests, but to kill a dragon would be great.

Yeah, it might not be a bad idea to fast-forward to the dragon and finish the module.

Re: OOC Thread 2
I think I'll put this game on "hold" for a bit until I calm down. Then I'll reach out and we can finish it at that point.

The other game I think I'll close.

You all are super great people, and I'd totally hang with any of you IRL.

So, let's give this a rest a bit and I'll pick it up again later.
