Re: OOC: On the Side

I'll sit down when I get home tonight and get started then.  (I'm rather new to V&V though.)

I'll happily take some help.  (tomorrow as my comp just lost its ethernet card and router got fried.  didn't know you could get surges though cables...)

Re: OOC: On the Side

I will throw up a dice procedure for ya, and see how we go from there...

1d6
2d6+13

1d6+2+W=NP

W=Weakness
NP=Number of Powers

d% x NP = for each power, pick from the Powers, Devices, Magic, Magic Items, Skills Tables, and roll d% for each one: (43 on Powers, 60 on Skills, etc.

d% x 10

5d6 x 10

5d4 x 10

2d10 x 5

d% x 5

Roll up that set of numbers, anywhere you want, and ill come back with a set of stats/powers for you to work with, under VnV rules.

Re: OOC: On the Side

This sequence accounts for all aspects of random generation, and leaves in other variables that would skew it enough to be unique every time. I ypher the die rolls so that even if you got a book, you wont know what your power roll resuults will be.

I guess the only real major difference is that stats are at 2d10 rather than 3d6.

Re: OOC: On the Side

Rolled up a hero, confused on "CIA's Manned Orbiting Laboratory Crew" option.  Would those choices be *in addition to* regular char gen, or instead of?  I'd def like Mercury Man (MM) to have a PhD in some type of science (magnetism?), and all those extra powers (bionics, etc) are nothing to scoff at.

Here's what I rolled up so far, like it!  (Changed to PM, you can all learn about Mercury Man as we play.)

Re: OOC: On the Side

Pswitch is a costumed hero in this city.
She is a 'telekinetic': it appears to be, by far, her defining Power as a super hero, and she is very powerful in it.

I am working on her heroic appearance now: but thinking of a combination of Lawrence of Arabia and 'V' ... the whole swirling robes and porcelain mask.

She, of course, has a mundane identity ... but I'd prefer to leave that for game play to reveal.

Re: OOC: On the Side

Just a thought ...

If anyone takes a hero named 'Gamemaster',
how confusing that could be on rpol!

*Dont do it!!*

Re: OOC: On the Side

The Wizard is, also, one of the city's costumed vigilantes. On the other hand, nobody really knows what his power is. It's suspected he doesn't, either.
It doesn't help that he was once seen thwarting a carjacking while wearing clam diggers, a smiley-face t-shirt covered by a formal dickie (complete with ruffles), an easter bonnet, platform shoes, and a beach towel tied on as a cape. By all accounts, the intended victim was spared because the perpetrators couldn't stop laughing (they're responding well to treatment).

Re: OOC: On the Side

Stan found an alien artifact, which bonded with him and identified itself as "Argonoid".  Argonoid spoke to him, and changed him -- boosting his intelligence and agility, gave him amazing powers over metals.  Following Argonoid's directions and his own creative designs, he built an amazing powered armor suit.

Mercury Man was born.

Re: OOC: On the Side

The Wizard was, actually, a stage magician that had a nervous breakdown, of sorts. The efforts of his unscrupulous manager and the shady practitioners that were hired gave him some abilities. He is serious about fighting crime and righting wrongs, but not as tightly tethered to reality as most people.

Re: OOC: On the Side

I rolled mine up using a bag of dice older than most of my furniture. The dice are actually a good deal more awesome than the character. They've actually been through the Suez!
Not that this makes any difference.
