Re: ooc: volume 2

Well, for an expedition into the interior, we'd need weapons, several weeks' food, tents, tools, machetes, medical supplies, a team of porters and native guides, plus an elephant. :)

Apart from our weapons and usual equipment, I can't think what we might need, not knowing what we might run into. Maybe some money minted at around the time, and 1863 British almanac, and a history book or newspaper for the time. It could be useful to know the weather, events, etc. in advance, or we can just cheat on horse-races. :D

This could be awkward when we find out who Penny's mother is... ;)

Unfortunately, Penny and Simon aren't yet back to the level of being able to share stuff easily. I've suggested before that they speak on some matters, like Castiel, but the nature of the campaign at this point means we don't get much of a chance. TBH, brooding privately on our issues until they become major problems is something of a theme in the Supernatural series. :)

I apologize! I didn't mean to rush you through too fast! Take as much time to talk as you like or feel free to use that conversation thread on here somewhere

Re: ooc: volume 2

I understand. Simon would not intrude on Penny's space as it were but rather would wait for her to ask him to talk. That was my reasoning for bringing it up here. In any event pack for an English summer then yes?

Re: ooc: volume 2

Its actually an expression. Packing for an English Summer means to Pack for any sort of weather. Its from the era when England controlled most of the world, so Summer in England meant Winter in one of its colonies.

Oh! Lol, well I feel silly! Better educated now, but silly! ;P

By the way in case I forget, I have the early shift on monday so I likely won't get to post. The rest of the time I will probably be able to do as I have been though. Thanks!

LOL

Well sure, that goes without saying, it is England after all.

I picture Simon almost choking on his words. He would never be so presumptuous as to demand an audience with a Messenger of God. It would be comical, in fact. Feel free to use that.

Characters pray to him in the series, kind of like telephoning, I think mainly for the humour. :)

Father Simon Cole:
Simon thought for a moment, "How about the confessional closet in the chapel? I believe it it next door? That way we can be alone without it being inappropriate for Lily of you. Would this be alright?"

We were at the brownstone, which I imagine doesn't have a chapel. We could move along to the Men of Letters base.

Jo can tag along if she wants to get to know Penny and Simon, though I imagine it might get cramped in the confessional. :)

Re: ooc: volume 2

I thought you would like him! ;P

Yes, Castiel is crazy good looking but then practically every guy on that show is. Hence there are so many female fans >:D

There's a lady at work who really likes the show too and she did me a favor by squeezing in a patient so I drew her a picture of Sam and Dean in the Impala as hamsters with a piece of pie for Dean and a plate of fruit for Sam. Why hamsters? I used to work in a petstore and the little demons have left an impact on me ever since. I am known for my hamster doodles. Plus it's a lot easier to draw hamsters then it is people. But anyway we both enjoy the show thoroughly and she keeps me posted when characters I love die since I am a season behind.

Re: ooc: volume 2

As part of my morning workout I watch an episode of Twilight Zone (original run) while walking on tread mill, sometimes two if I am in the mood for more activity. This morning I watched "The Silence." Even though I had the ending figured out early on it was still a fun thing to watch. Maybe I had seen it before or something. Anyway my favorite episode is "Night of the Meek" about a wino who wishes he could be Santa so that he can give presents to the poor kids on skid row. He gets his wish and I always cry when I watch it.

Re: ooc: volume 2

I love the original twilight zone!! I saw the santa one, that was really sweet. Was the silence about that guy with the bet that he wouldn't talk for a year or whatever? That was upsetting. I'm on the second season right now though I used to watch it at my grandparents as a kid and loved them. I would watch them every day if I could but my husband is making me wait for him. Grrrrrr.

Re: ooc: volume 2

Yes that is the one exactly. In a glass room for a year without making a sound. Like I said I had the ending figured, probably because I had seen it before. I watched them with my dad, who watched them with his own grandmother in their first run. She called them (along with The Outer Limits) her "Boogery Movies" and he passed along the love to me and my siblings.

I keep watching but I skip the ones I have seen very often or remember immediately. Changing subjects, did I do Simon's reaction to Castiel justice?

I figured Penny would be. :)

I now really have to see a hamster Penny. :D

I've seen a little old and new (now old) Twilight Zone, but I really wish I could see more. Some episodes still give me the creeps. Before my time, unfortunately, and for all the new channels, repeats of classic shows are still scarce. (I'm currently watching my way through Thunderbirds. :D )
