Thank you! I appreciate it!

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about Kate coming back. It looks like I won't have to wait so long to reveal my plans after all ;P

She meant that literally! She raised a hellhound.

I'm sure he will, Simon's a very respectful character ;P You can just go ahead and post accordingly and then if for some reason Simon deems to stick around we can adjust it but this way it saves time :)

Re: ooc: volume 2

I made up the stuff about hellhounds tracking by soul. It seems reasonable for what they do, interesting and different, and it matches the series lore about ghosts being attached to personal items. It doesn't seem to contradict anything about hellhounds in the series, and shouldn't change the process of tracking at all. But if it's a problem, I can drop it.

Re: ooc: volume 2

I think it's perfect! Some of the lore isn't explained all that well and there's room for tweaking like I did with Crowley's deal for a soul. If it fits it fits right?

http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Diplomacy_Skill

That is an exert from the Wiki on the specific skill. Note the time constraints to use it.

I think (but not my character so merely suggestion) a better to use here would be to Bluff for a feint, that would drop her AC by negating her dodge bonus.

Re: ooc: volume 2

No, in d20 modern, a negotiator can spend a full round to talk somebody down, with a DC of 10 + class level + charisma, which is what she's doing.

I'm not dropping her AC to get her hit, and I'm not even fully sold on "which" side is better to join!

Re: ooc: volume 2

For this to work, Josephine, you'll need to roll Bluff for innuendo and we will need to roll sense motive to "get you."

Re: ooc: volume 2

Ok, I rolled a 30 for bluff.

Is there any way I can also "aid another" or something similar, since I'm, in effect, working with you guys, and I'm sort of a master of these things? (Mechanics wise. I don't want to cheat the system, but it'd be hilarious to see high level negotiators unable to send secret messages)

Re: ooc: volume 2

OK I misread it.

SRD:
Delivering a Secret Message
You can use Bluff to get a message across to another character without others understanding it. The DC is 15 for simple messages, or 20 for complex messages, especially those that rely on getting across new information. Failure by 4 or less means you can’t get the message across. Failure by 5 or more means that some false information has been implied or inferred. Anyone listening to the exchange can make a Sense Motive check opposed by the Bluff check you made to transmit in order to intercept your message (see Sense Motive).

What it is saying is you make a roll, DC 20 and we understand your message. If the NPC makes a DC 30 Sense Motive check then the jig is up.

Re: ooc: volume 2

Oh ok, awesome.

So message was delivered properly, no matter what, the only downside being if the NPC somehow rolls a 30, they NOTICE the message?

Re: ooc: volume 2

Sweet! Let's send tons of cool messages like Josephine slowly sending the entire trilogy of Star Wars through thousands of covert messages. That way, if the enemy catches on, they'll only be able to complain, not understand.

I love it when my players do all my research for me :D

And that would be awesome Jo!

While I'm thinking about it I may as well give you a head's up that the next month and a half I will be decreasingly available. I'm covering for vacations at my old job and when I have the early shift it throws me off. There's plenty of times I will be able to post real quick but next week for instance could be rough. I may be able to do some next weekend though, we'll play it by ear. Oh well, gotta pay for that kidney stone somehow! ;P

Re: ooc: volume 2

It was actually a reference to Isaiah 37:36

36 Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men arose early in the morning, behold, all of these were dead.

There are parallels to Elijah 2nd Kings 6:16 and 17

16 So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18When they came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, "Strike this people with blindness, I pray." So He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.…

Re: ooc: volume 2

Seriously can you imagine being that poor servant. One second your alone with this old man who keeps babbling about God and Angels and the next second...BAM...you've got an army of fire. Kind of makes me shiver.
