Re: Ooc: Volume 3

I'm sure none of you will be surprised that I'm probably not going to be able to post much the rest of the week due to Thanksgiving. For my fellow Americans, Happy Thanksgiving! For Penny, just have a fantabulous week ;P

I'm not really excited about hosting, even though it's a small gathering, but at least I like the food! We're having nachos! I feel like turkey just isn't my thing. Luckily my mother in law agrees!

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Still waiting on Alice's rolls. If I don't get them by the next time I post, I'll just roll them myself. Speaking of posting, since Christmas is tomorrow, it should come as no surprise that I won't be posting until next week. My husband is taking some much needed time off. If, however, I get a little time I'll try to pop one in, otherwise you can expect one next week.

Happy holidays everyone!

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

My week is crazy and my day is shot to hell. I fell in the driveway running away from imaginary demons (haha, it was dark and I’d just seen a horror movie), and I landed on my foot and heard a snap...so needless to say my schedule is thrown off. I’m trying to avoid the ER and waiting to talk to an advice nurse...sigh. I’ll be ok but needless to say I’m not going to be able to post today

Thanks! I found out today it's not broken, just sprained. It's really swollen and bruised but I'm just happy nothing broke. It was probably a ligament that snapped or something when I fell. Oh well. Thanks for your patience!

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post today guys. We got a kitten thrust upon us yesterday and she's a huge handful. I really wasn't wanting a kitten to be honest, and it's a transition to say the least but she triggered our friend's PTSD and he needed to find a home for her fast. She's just lucky she's cute...
Oh. And I did my taxes today. Lots of grown up stuff going on. Next week will be a little better, though I should warn you my sister's having her c section...I'm sure I'll be able to squeeze a couple of posts in though! Yay!

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

No problems here. I wish I'd posted on a previous day, but two days of babysitting had wiped me out.

I have to ask: what was the problem with the kitten? It's hard to think of anything more harmless, or was it more a nuisance thing?

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Well for my friend having her jump out at him unexpectedly triggered a huge panic attack since he has really bad ptsd from serving in Afghanistan. For me, it’s that I’m not over my old cat’s death yet and I do find kittens to be higher maintenance than I wanted to commit to. My house isn’t really kitten friendly so I’m still trying to minimize the things she can destroy. She’s extremely rambunctious...that said she’s very cute and she seems to be helping my husband with his own anxiety issues (his job is nuts), so she’ll be worth it. I just have to take a chill pill and realize she’s going to get into things and it’s not the end of the world. We were really spoiled with our old cat. She’d sleep on the couch, on a chair or on your lap. The rest of the time she’d be eating or drinking or casually wandering around. She never jumped on anything or got into anything. Ever. She was lazy and mellow and absolutely perfect! ☹️

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Ah, okay. I was asking about the PTSD issue, I never imagined something as minor as a kitten could cause such a reaction. And I can understand the stress of winding up with a pet you didn't really want. Well, good luck with the little one.

My cat is mellow like that. After kittenhood, he never did more than wander and poke around a bit. He's 17 years old now, and still moseying around with few signs of stopping.

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Yeah, we were all really surprised that this huge buff guy who served in the military was undone by a tiny little kitten, but he really really was. Now, living with her for five days or so, I actually get it. She just pounces out of nowhere and attacks you. For someone with massive anxiety issues (our friend), it's very triggering since his ptsd centers around being unexpectedly attacked, among other things. Unfortunately his girlfriend is having a hard time sympathizing and he may just lose her over this. It's a really annoying situation to be in honestly. He's neglected his mental health too long and it may cost him the best woman he's ever met and WE have to pay the price for it with this little holy terror running around like a maniac. Plus, this is the second girlfriend we've had to help through his ptsd issues. They always come running to us, and I'm happy to help, but it's just not very nice to be so heavily involved in other people's relationships you know? They're grown ups, they need to be able to communicate with EACH OTHER. And I adore our friend, he's an amazing person, but he really needs to put in the hard work and get help or he's going to ruin his life. No one can do this but him. Oh well. At least the dumb kitten is cute, even though she's interrupted this post three times by getting on the kitchen table... ;p

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Alice had both pistols out, it was in my last post. She is all about speed and being a step ahead. If she saw the woman pulling a scroll, she would have fired, and she would be aiming to kill. Do I at least get a chance to stop this?

Sure! Go for it! What you don’t realize though is that she has some tricks up her sleeves but if you get a good enough roll I can see it delaying her. Sorry about that

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

Artemis before you resolve Penny’s save...

Penny you are really close. You can spend an action point to add 2d6 to that roll. Even if they are average, it would make the roll a 17 which would be a pass. Just consider it because getting that scroll could change this whole encounter.

Re: Ooc: Volume 3

No worries, I understand. It's kind of crazy everywhere now anyway. Did your kids' school get cancelled? The virus is in my city/state so they've closed down all schools for at LEAST a month. There are tp shortages and businesses closing and all kinds of crap going on. It's a real mess. I'll probably still post for Penny and NPC Alice, but I may just do it 1-2 times a week until things settle down. Thanks for letting me know and stay healthy everyone!

No worries here, stay healthy, happy, clean, and several feet apart everyone!

We've had similar chaos, but I guess it's the same around the world. But schools are still open here. My sister's a teacher, with two small kids, so she's worried, and she stresses too much as it is. :(
