Wild Mass Guessing

I realized this was a subject sorely lacking in our forum, for thus unfamiliar with WMG it comes from the TVtropes Website which has a page called Wild Mass Guessing for every story on the site.  WMG is basically posting up whatever strange or unusual theories/ideas you might have about the story.  Such as saying Ancerenth being a future version of Earth (which I'll Joss now by saying it's totally not so you have 'word of god' on that one) or that Naryah are in fact organic robots.

As long as it has to do with the story of setting of What Fades Away you can go nuts and post it here, you're welcome to discuss theories about what you think might happen in the story as well, or has happened.

Re: Wild Mass Guessing

How about this: the Kaetyma and Doola Tywuar do not have the draconic lineage that they claim/that history tells.  Instead they are the descendents of some culture that sought to steal the power of dragons.  Some dark ritual was conducted by ordinary people somewhere that basically ripped the dragons from the world and forced their essence into the ritualists, creating these two draconic races from their mortal bodies and endng the dragon species in a single foul swoop.  That's not to say that those races today are evil, just that their forefathers were.

This brings to mind mythic history.  The idea being that you have "real" history which is what actually happened and another version which is the idea of what happened.  In mysticism both histories are real and equally valid.  A story after-all is just another form of spell.

Re: Wild Mass Guessing

Well i have one: The Umbreans are a creation of the Naryah. Possibly on purpose, but not the way they imaged. Or they are an unforeseen consequent of a Naryah experiment...
